Set the fttraaco on top of the COd_.se, making surethat the hack side of the discharge opening _ snug upagainst the duct flange at the top rear of the coil case.

The following steps are to be ccu_dered when _ t_erefrigerantlh_es:

a. Determine the most practical way to run the ltocg.

b. Consider typesofbend_ to be made and spacelimitations.

NOF_:

Large diameter tubing sizes will be difficult to mbendonce it has been shaped.

c.' Determi'_e the bestStart_ pointforrouting therefrigerant tubing -- INSIDE OR OL"rSI]) E "JI'_'_ESTRUCTURE.

d. Provide a pun t_ough hole of sufficient sloe to allowbeth liquid and gas lines to clear. Tho location of ridshole (if practice) should be just above the wail platewhim is resting on the foundation.

e.Be stirstho roll of tubingis of sufSdant length.

£ Uncoil the tubing- do not kink or dent_ If the [me setis prefabricated with fitt_, the Quick-Attachfitt_gs with the procure tap always connects to theoutdoor unit, and the indoor fittings must be remov_]_

g.Route the tubingmaking allrequh_l bends andproper_y secure the tubing before malting finn]connections.

NOTE:These lines must be leOlated_rom tim structure and theholes must be _ealed weather tight after in._ellatlon.

H. FIELD FABRICATEDINTERCONNECTING UNESa. The foIlowiug procedure _hould be used for connecth_

tubing to the ceil or the Outdoor Unit.

b. More infatuationconcerning the iustallationofrefi-Jgeraut lines is covered in the Insinll_ Guidopackaged with the outdoor unit. Review the evacua-tion, leak tes_ug end brazing proc_-dttrcs included inthose inStructionsI_d'ore starting the installationofrefrigerant lines.

BRAZINGTO EVAPORATOR SECTION

IMPORTANT:Do not unseal refflgetant tubing until ready to cut and fflmfdgP_rant lines.

_l_nere ia only a holding clmrge of dry air in the indoor carl,therefore no 1o_ of operating refldgorant _e occurs whenthe sealing plugs are removed.

1. Remove both seals from the indoor cog. The braze capsare son sold_.

2. Field supplied tublng should be cut square, toured andfree ofbun-e at'the cormectlilg end. Clean the tubing toprevent contaminant_ from enterlng the system.

3. Run the refrigerant tubing into the efl;ub tubesockets of the in_oor unit ceiL

PAId'TED AREAS OF THE UNIT MUST BE SHIELD]_DURING BRAZING.

4. Braze and evacuate according to indoor and outdoorinsta]latloninstructions.

6, Use good brazing technique to mnke leakproofjoint_.

7. Minhnlze the use o_ _arp 90" bends.

8. Insulato the suction line and its fittings.

Do not open refdgerent valve at the outdoor unit until therefftgerant lines and coil have been brazed, evacuated, andleak checked. This would cause contamination of therefrigerant or po_$1btedischarge of refdgeran! to theatmosphere.

I. LEAK CHECK1. Using a manifold gauge, cannot an external _pply of

dry _ttrogen to the gauge port on the liquid Hne.

2. Pressurize the connecting lines and indoor carl to150 PSIG ma_dmum.

Once theouter doors arc removed on the ]RXC coils, the reroutedtub_ anows the split inner coil pa_ t_ be easy removed,The _ coils also have sp]_t inner coll paneln. The in,videand outside of the coil can be easily cleaned with a brush andvacuum with the p_ue]s removed. See Figure II.

The fo_l covered i_ula_on ou _.XC coils should be wipeddown and residusl dirt _o,d dust should be vacuumed up tomaintain good air quality.
