A safety package with Front Collision Guard (FCG).

The ComfortClass safety, with top ranking in the truest

sense of the word, now features Front Collision Guard*

taken from the Setra TopClass. We have not only

enhanced passive safety, we have also improved active

safety: through the introduction of standard-series

cornering lights and rain/light sensors which

automatically activate headlights or windscreen wipers

when required.

For those who travel in the ComfortClass, the

experience begins as soon as they enter the

coach. From the wide, spacious stairwell, they

enter a pleasantly bright passenger space with generous

panoramic windows and appealing lighting. A vehicle

width of 2.55 m and standing height of 2.0 m facilitates

access to the comfortable, ergonomically designed

seats where stowing away hand luggage couldnt be

easier. High-quality materials, a subdued noise level,

superior air conditioning and ventilation, combined with

a distinctive selection of equipment all contribute to

making long journeys as comfortable as an

station and cockpit is to best support him in

The new ComfortClass sets new standards here once

again: with a spacious, state-of-the-art cockpit and first-class drivers seat with wide-ranging adjustment options

comprehensive ergonomic concept makes sure that

each hand movement is optimally defined and key

information is always available and accessible. The

multifunctional display with 3D optics, taken over from

the TopClass, makes a key contribution here. It was

adapted to the needs of the ComfortClass and now

features a colour display which highlights, for instance,

which doors and hatches are still open, as well as

details on fuel consumption, via a travel notebook.

Further innovations include a standard-series rain/light

sensor, a new noise-reducing segment-changeover for

Setra has been offering the highest safety standard in

coach engineering for over 50 years, with its

countless innovations, well integrated solutions and

consistent use of state-of-the-art technologies. The active

and passive safety systems, which are closely integrated

throughout all vehicle components, ensure a high level of

protection in each and every Setra. They facilitate the

drivers task, support him in dealing with critical situations

and minimise consequences should an accident be

unavoidable.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ART)

supports the driver for the most part

on highways and rural motorways. The

system is based on continuous

measurement of the distance to the

vehicle ahead.

Active Brake Assist (ABA) is based on

the Adaptive Cruise Control feature.The moment radar sensors note that a

critical minimum distance to the

vehicle ahead has been reached, the

system automatically initiates

emergency braking.

Lane Assist (SPA) permanently

measures the lateral distance to lane

markings and warns the driver via a

vibration in the seat, should they

deviate from the lane.

Continuous Braking Limiter (DBL)

prevents the vehicle from

accelerating beyond the allowed

Safety in the foregroundEven more protection potential with Front Collision Guard and cornering lights

Improved driver protection: the Front Collision Guard*.In spite of

the most modern safety systems and well trained drivers, there are

times when an accident cannot be prevented. In these rare

instances, the Front Collision Guard* (FCG) ensures a protected space

for the driver and tour guide. In the case of a frontal collision, the

absorber structure transforms the impact energy into deformation

energy. At the same time, the drivers area is pushed back away from

the danger zone.

Mastering even tight curves safely with cornering lights.

For illuminating tight curves, the new ComfortClass now features

standard-series cornering lights on board. This increases safety when

driving in the dark, as they illuminate the road ahead when turning or in

tight curves, using the coachs inside curve fog lights. In addition, under

poor lighting or weather conditions, youll travel more safely and

comfortably with our new rain/light sensors.

*Does not apply to the S 419 GT-HD, S 415 GT-HD RHD and S 416 GT-HD RHD

At speeds of under 40 km/h, the fog lights automatically

turn into cornering lights, lighting up curves ahead with a

reflector depending on indicator lights, steering wheel

position and speed.
