Sporting Women 2016 Registration
You get to participate in 4 courses during the day. Please rank your top ten choices in order of preference with 1 being your first choice and 10 being your last. Every attempt will be made to schedule you in your top choices but some classes have limited enrollment and they will close out quickly.
The 13th Annual Sporting Women's workshop is
$45. This includes choice of four courses, use of
equipment and supplies needed for each course,
lunch and drinks. Lunch break features a silent
auction to raise money for Clermont County Senior
Services.
Deadline for registration is July 12, 2016.
Register by June 16, 2016 for a $5 discount. Your
registration confirmation will include directions and
any additional information concerning attire or what
to bring.

2014S Sporting Women Participants
Blackout Tees will be creating made to order tee shirts at the event for $15. Sun visors are also available for $15 but must be pre-ordered. Call Blackout Tees at 513-604-8337 to order your Sporting Women visor in advance.
.22 Rifle: Participants will learn the basic techniques of shooting a rifle with and without a telescopic sight.
Gold Panning: Put yourself in the shoes of the 49ers, who traveled west in search of gold. Pan for gold and keep what you find. Learn the different ways of prospecting for gold and other valuable stones in a nearby stream.
Archery: Learn how to shoot compound and/or traditional bows at animal targets 10-15 yards away. Learn bow basics so you will be able to select archery equipment that meets your needs.
Basket Weaving: Introduction to the art of basket weaving. This class will take TWO SESSIONS due to the amount of time needed to complete a basket. Instructor will discuss basket types, supplies
needed and other basic information that will get you hooked!
Trap Shooting: Learn to shoot a shotgun! You will be introduced to the basics of shot gunning which includes learning the types and gauges; ammunition, chokes and loads used; parts of a shotgun, safe handling and safety equipment. Learn the joy of trap shooting
Dutch Oven Cooking: Don’t go hungry in the outdoors! Learn how to cook a variety of recipes over an open flame or in a Dutch oven. You will learn about the types of cooking utensils, camp stoves, various foods, safety and how to build a fire without losing your cool! Sampling is a must so bring your appetite!
Washi Tape: Create your own washi-tape and save! Use it to decorate note cards, journal pages, scrapbooks, gift tags, or on any paper or cardboard item. Can be coated with mod podge type protection for sturdier use.
Handguns: At the end of this class, you will be able to safely shoot a variety of handguns and clean and prepare a handgun for storage. The instructor will provide a broad spectrum of information about the operations and fundamentals of shooting handguns.
Self Defense: Now that you’ve learned about all these really great outdoors activities, are you a little apprehensive about going out into the woods by yourself? Learn methods of personal protection to handle any situation in which you might feel uncomfortable
Geocaching: Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the “treasure”. With over 2.5 million active geocaches around the world this fun activity can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Kayaking/Canoeing: Learn about styles and types of canoes and kayaks and all of the gear you need to canoe or kayak safely. You will be taught proper paddling techniques so you can paddle all day without getting tired. You must bring water shoes and be prepared to get wet as you practice your technique on the club pond.
Canning Pickles and Salsa: Canning instructors will teach you how to make your own pickles and salsa from your own garden cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers. Topics will include what supplies you need, preparing jars, basic canning and proven recipes for making your own delicious pickles and salsa.
Alternative Outdoor Cooking: See how easy it is to cook over charcoal using little, or no, cooking gear and utensils plus the freedom from cleanup! You will prepare the best favorite recipes from the previous four years of this class and will take home recipes, tips, and instructions for future enjoyment.
Fly Fishing: Learn one of the oldest forms of fishing in our stocked lake. You will acquire information on fishing equipment, local fishing opportunities and fishing rules and regulations.
Advanced Rifle: If you’ve taken .22 rifle in the past and you want more, this is the class for you. Participants will learn various shooting positions and have the opportunity to handle medium bore rifles.
Hammered Copper: New for 2016. You will hammer a copper dish or bowl creating a beautiful rustic piece of art. Tools and copper will be provided but bring a pair of work gloves for this class.
Inner Artist: Turn on your inner artist with Nancy Howes. Create sturdy painted papers in your favorite colors for book covers, collage/decoupage, gift boxes and treasure chests. Play with colorful acrylic paint on various recycled papers and be prepared to have FUN!
Golf: Get in the swing and learn the basic skills of golf. A local golf pro will be teaching the class and will help you improve your technique. Learn how to properly hold and swing the club, proper equipment, golf etiquette and great places to practice in the Tri-State area.
