Full variable speed controlIn mission critical industrial applications, such as
the onshore, offshore and downstream oil & gas
and associated marine and shipping industries,
Synectics is recognized as the world leader in
integrated CCTV and visual communication systems
for safety, surveillance and security applications.
Incorporating unique COEX™ “smart move”
technology – combined with digital resolvers for
super 16 bit digital accuracy – COEX™ 3000 camera
stations enable smooth, precise pan and tilt action
with unparalleled operator control, even at high
zoom and long range – typical of process control
applications.
And, with advanced, precision engineering comes
spectacular performance – at both high & low
speeds.
With fully adjustable/proportional speed to zoom
and zoom related speed control, it’s now easy to
point a camera at a target position and accurately
adjust to a specific point – simply and effortlessly.
Accuracy & Repeatability ofPositioningWith 64 fully configurable presets, COEX™ 3000
camera stations feature 360° continuous unlimited
pan rotation, with unprecedented 0.05° preset
repeatability.
Having the ability to recall preset positions, with
such high levels of accuracy, enables operators to
reliably and quickly view any location or any object
– no matter how small or how distant – relying
entirely on the COEX™ 3000 camera station being in
exactly the right position, at exactly the right time.
A dedicated manufacturer of CCTV systems for the Oil& Gas, Marine & Industrial sectors since 1985, Synectics’COEX™ 3000 explosion protected camera stations aredesigned for toughness and durability in the mostadverse environments – from offshore oil rigs andfloating natural gas production platforms toFPSO/FSO’s and LPG/LNG tanker vessels.
Specifically developed for hazardous area applications,COEX™ 3000 EExd camera stations are manufacturedfrom the highest grade, corrosion resistant, electro-polished 316L stainless steel – incorporating state ofthe art cameras, control and transmission modules.
25 years experience of technical excellence –combined with extensive development, attentionto detail and sound engineering practice – meansCOEX™ 3000 camera stations will continue to deliverworld-class images, under the very toughestenvironmental conditions, anywhere in the world.

Cast from solid 316L stainless steel, the COEX™3000’s ruggedized and robust design makes it thetoughest and most versatile pan & tilt camerastation in the world, while at < 25kg – one of thelightest and smallest on the market.
IP68 sealed for total protection against dust ingressand immersion under pressure, COEX™ 3000camera stations can operate at temperatures as lowas -45°C or as high as +60°C.
COEX™ 3000 camera stations are twice as versatileas conventional EExd cameras, with the capabilityto be mounted inverted or right-side-up,eliminating any potential mounting problems.
COEX™ 3000 camera stations can capturesafety and surveillance images at any speed, providing absolute performance through hurricaneconditions.
A virtually indestructible worm drive also ensuressmooth control at slow speeds or full zoom, whileeliminating backlash.
The COEX™ 3000’s advanced mechanical design –combined with a state of the art low voltage,AC stepper motor control and temperature sensorpre-heater, for extremely low temperatures –ensures long lasting, advanced functionality 24/7,365 days of the year.

Exceptional Performance
Thermal Camera StationsAfter developing the world’s first explosion protectedthermal cameras, Synectics is now delivering industryleading performance at affordable prices, with its mostadvanced camera stations yet.
Featuring long wave, 3rd generation amorphoussilicon microbolometer technology, COEX™ 3000thermal camera stations can operate day or night – intotal darkness, through dense smoke and fog and inextreme weather conditions – detecting intruders orpersonnel at ranges of up to 1km.
COEX™ thermal imaging cameras produce imageswhere conventional cameras cannot – differentiatingbetween hot and cold objects, making them ideal formonitoring tank levels, faults and oil spillages, leaksand ice detection, as well as flare monitoring and widearea surveillance.
COEX™ 3000 thermal cameras also feature aprogrammable ‘colorization’ capability – allowing partsof the image above (or below) a preset temperature tobe clearly distinguished.
Onshore Offshore Downstream Marine Industrial
Video Camera StationsCOEX™ 3000 camera stations are fitted with a highquality, high resolution 1/4” CCD zoom camera modulewith autofocus, as standard. Featuring exceptional lowlight and outstanding night vision performance underinfrared, mechanical filters also ensure vivid daytimecolor, with sharp focus.
CCD zoom modules deliver up to 36x optical plus 12xdigital zoom on high-performance models – ensuringcrisp, bright detailed pictures from the most challengingenvironments.
Almost any transmission method can be accommodatedwithin the EExd housing – allowing critical savings onsupplementary EExd enclosures.
All versions are capable of having an integrated H.264video encoder to convert analog cameras to IP status,as an option. High Definition, Megapixel and fullyintegrated IP camera options are also available, togetherwith 1/3” CCD cameras, for extreme low lightconditions.

Systems Integration
At the heart of every Synectics digital recording solution isour e-series of modular H.264 IP video encoders, providing a
system that is totally scalable, from a few, tohundreds of cameras.
Synectics encoders connect directly, or via the network, to SynecticsMDRS™ Primary Storage Nodes (PSN’s) or network DVR’s. Synectics
RAID 5 and RAID 6 Network Video Servers can simultaneously recordand play back dozens of digitally encoded camera streams.
SynergyXtreme™, our award winning GUI video view andreview software, is the driving force behind Synectics
Modular Digital Encoding & Recording Systems (MDRS™),providing unparalleled flexibility, security and scalability.
SynergyXtreme™ can also gather alarms from independent3rd party systems – such as access control, fire, perimeter,
intruder and building management systems, displaying themon a single, visually intuitive review screen.

COEX™ ancillaries and cables are designed to meet mostsite requirements for Oil & Gas, Marine and Industrialapplications – simplifying installation, while minimizinglabor and cabling costs.
Fire resistant and other specialist cables are available tomeet customers’ exact specifications.
Capabilities & Ancillaries
Certified Junction BoxesCOEX™ 3000 camera stations have no exposedcables and all electronics are contained withinthe pan & tilt or connector units. Low orfluctuating voltage or other user demands may, however, require external junction boxes.
The EExe rated EJB range of junction boxes, withoptional fiber splice tray and EEx transformer, provides a simple and cost effective solutionwhen using mains voltage to supply the camerastation.
EEx Wash Systems Designed and developed specifically for COEX™3000 camera stations – enabling remotepressure jet washing of camera windows.
The reservoir can be installed more than 20mbelow the camera head, allowing convenientrefilling at an accessible level.
The spray nozzle is mounted on the windowwiper, to ensure uniform window cleaning.
