SAN JOSE, CA & KRAKOW, POLAND – May 26, 2009 – Veraz Networks, Inc. , (NASDAQ: VRAZ), the leading provider of Multimedia Generation Network application, control, and bandwidth optimization products, and Comarch , theleading BSS/OSS vendor and systems integrator, today announced a jointoffering for wholesale carriers that combines Comarch’s real-time pre-paid, service creation and credit control application with Veraz’s ControlSwitch ™interconnect VoIP platform.
Wholesale service providers are increasingly looking to offer pre-paid billingas an option for their carrier customers. Carrier pre-paid services require real-time billing, credit control and revenue assurance capabilities that need to betightly integrated into both the carrier’s OSS/BSS systems and their voiceswitching infrastructure.
In many cases, wholesale operators’ voice networks are a multi-vendormixture of legacy TDM switches, next generation softswitches and
increasingly IMS SIP components. The real-time integration of all of thesediverse elements into a unified pre-paid billing architecture is oftentechnically challenging and cost-prohibitive.
The Veraz-Comarch solution addresses this by leveraging Veraz’s ability tointerwork across legacy, first generation softswitches and IMS-based SIPcontrol elements, providing a unified interface into the carrier pre-paidsystem and overall OSS/BSS environment.
