FROM OUR C.E.O.'S DESK:2017 has been quite a year for One Step Beyond in both Arizona and California. With so many parents choosing One Step Beyond as the Life Skills, Community Integration, Arts, Recreation, and Employment Program that they truly want for their daughter or son, we have, by yearend, enrolled over 400 individuals who have Intellectual Disability in our programs. We have seen these individuals make impressive strides on their path to realizing their personal goals. In Arizona, 22 students attended Estrella Community College and achieved completion
certificates in language, math, and computer classes. Twenty OSBI culinary students advanced to chef status and employment on our OSBI Catering Team. Our performers in Dance, Music, and Theater played to sold out audiences and astounded us with their growing talent. Our Heartstrings Band and Dance Troupe performed at many venues in the Phoenix area and even traveled to Los Angeles to Perform at a national Musicians Conference. In California, we are truly becoming the program of choice for families. Our programs are reaching capacity, and we were able to add a Music studio and launch a Hockey Team this year. 2018 will be a year of continuous improvement as we strategically plan to increase our capacity to serve more adults who have Intellectual Disability. The community need for One Step Beyond is great, and we are committed to serve. We cannot do this alone. We are deeply appreciative of all of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and foundations who have supported our Mission. With your help, we will continue to live up to our name by continuously developing our programs to be, not only One Step Beyond, but Many Steps Beyond current opportunities available to the people we are proud to serve. They have great potential, and we are here, with your help, to ensure they realize their personal goals of Independence and Contribution to their Community.
Best,
Mimi Rogers One Step Beyond, Inc. Founder and C.E.O.
