How to apply for Admission

Complete an Application for Admission. Online submissions and paper forms are available.
Submit a copy of your ID (such as your unexpired driver’s license or state identification card) to the Admissions Office.
Submit a copy of your ACT, SAT or Accuplacer scores (if taken within the past five years) to the Admissions Office.
Submit the final, official copy of your high school transcript showing your graduation date or your GED score report to the Admissions Office.
Submit official copies of transcripts from ALL colleges previously attended. Send these to the Registrar’s Office! After that, your Admissions file is complete!

Step 2 Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.
• The FAFSA opens October 1 each year.
• If you are beginning in the fall semester, do this before July 1 for priority processing!
• You do not have to be accepted to the College before starting the FAFSA
Step 3 Fill out the Scholarship form on our website at www.coastalalabama.edu/scholarships
• The deadline to apply for scholarships is February 1.
• Make sure you apply for Admission early enough to receive your student number for the scholarship application!

You may qualify for Pell grants, loans and other methods to help you pay for college.
Don’t overlook scholarship opportunities. There are thousands to apply for whether you are interested in a leadership scholarship, a program-specific scholarship, an academic scholarship, or a service scholarship.

• Minimum 25 ACT and 3.5 GPA (Full tuition and fees for fall, spring, and summer)
• Minimum 23 ACT and 3.0 GPA ($1500 for fall and spring)
• Minimum 21 ACT and 3.0 GPA ($1000 for fall and spring)
Minimum qualifications to apply:
Some programs offer technical scholarships. The requirement is a minimum 2.5 GPA with no ACT requirement to apply. The award is up to $1500 per semester.
• These include Ambassador scholarships where students work special events and serve as ambassadors for the College and Leadership scholarships for groups such as Student Government Association, the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and even Resident Assistants in the residence halls.
• The requirements are a minimum 2.5 GPA and a 16 ACT to apply. The award ranges from $1000 for fall and spring semesters to full tuition and fees based on the type of activity and award.

Local high school competitions that award scholarships, such as the Annual Computer Fair, the Michael Tedder Mathematics Tournament, and Scholars Bowl
A scholarship for a student to serve as a lead ambassador for the College. This program serves as a preliminary to Miss Alabama.

Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degrees
• When you’re done with your AA or AS degree, transfer to a four-year university to seek a bachelor’s degree.
• Academic courses are guaranteed by State law to transfer to universities across Alabama - www.GettheGuide.net.
• Save thousands by completing two years at Coastal Alabama before transferring – after all, your credits can transfer with you!
• Accreditation matters. Get a degree you can be confident in.
• We are regionally accredited by the same agency as The University of Alabama, Auburn University, the University of South Alabama and other known universities across the south – including out-of-state universities!
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees, certificates and training certificates
• Select an AAS degree or certificate to get the skills you need to move directly into the workforce.
• Choose an option that fits your schedule whether you are looking for a two-year intensive degree, a one-year certificate or even a one-semester training certificate.
