Column Design Gradation- Criteria & Objective • Students will be making a five step gradual change in a simple abstract design. • Students will use graphite, a straight edge, ink, pen, or markers, on a sheet of 12x18 in. paper that can be reduced to a 12x12 in. square with a one inch border. • Students must make an abstract design from a few simple shapes and lines, then change that design to a lighter, different version over five gradual steps. The design must repeat over five columns, and the columnar designs must interlock or touch tangentially. • The objective of this lesson is to create a change in value with a mass of shapes or design.

Column Design Gradation- Criteria & Objective

• Students will be making a five step gradual change in a simple abstract design.
