Civilization- A highly developed culture usually with an organized religion and laws Traditional- Living as ones ancestors have lived Plantation- A large farm on which a single cash crop is grown Slave- A person owned by another for the purpose of providing labor

Conquest Definitions Colony- The overseas settlements used for producing wealth for the parent country Descendant- Someone who is related to a person or group of people who lived in the past Legend- An unverified story handed down by tradition from earlier times and popularly accepted as historical (Examples: Atlantis, Holy Grail, Robin Hood, Fountain of Youth, etc.)
