Vannessa statedthat she knew EricHarrisand had met him this year after transferring over from BearCreek, Vannessa reported thatshe alsoknewDylanKlebold and that her good friendAljeandra [ Alex] Marschwas alsoa mutual friend.Alex had told her that theTrenchCoatMafiawas the art studentsand tha; they liked to wearthe trenchcoats, Vannessastated thatshe thought that Eric Harris andDylanKlebold wereon thefringes of thegroupand added that shehad neverbeen to eitherof theirhomes nor had theyever beento her home.Themorningof theincident, TuesdayApri120U'. Vannessathen statedthat she then sawDylan Klebold outside thecafeteriawindowwearing a balaclava [ dark blueorblack1, and a trenchcoat; did not seeif hewaswearing a hat or not. When asked bybeth Investigators howshe knewit was Dylan Vannessa statedthat theymade eyecontact, that the party was the same buildas Dylanand that she just knew. ShesaidDylanwalkedup to approximately 15 feet from thewindow and then saw the window glassexplode with a boyinsidebeingshot and falling backwards. Healsoalwaysworeblackarmy fatiguepantswith at times thematchingshirt.Vannessa staled shewasnotclosewith Robin Anderson and thengave the nameof a Tiffany Burkewho she said wasa good friend ofRobinVannessa then mentioned ZackHecklerand admitted to beingclosewith Zack and acceptingrideshomefromhim frequently. Sheadded that Zachworked as a stage technician and did the lightingfarthe theatergroupsand plays andwas reachingDylan how todo it; that he usedMrs. SueCrothers key'sto get access where he needed to go. Vannessaknew that Zachwas veryknowledgeable aboutcomputers and thatZach, ChrisMorris,Eric Hartis andDylanKleboldwereclosefriends.When asked about the kindsof videogames theylikedto playVannessastated that EricandDylanIilced toplay Dungeons andDragonsand a gamecalledMagie. She said that she had neverplayedanyvideogameswith them.     northwest corner, but was not sure. Krista, Lydia and Nicole a l l goton the f l oor . She looked towards the west and heard a loud "boom'' rthen saw smoke outside. She does not recal l hearing any gunfire typenoises pr ior to th is . Krista did not see anyone carry:lng, orshooting a weapon.Krista stated that she, Lydia and Nicole ran around the cornertowards the auditorium doors. They waited a few seconds outs ide theaudatorium doors near the elevators. Alex Marsh said tha t she sawDylan Klebold shooting a gun. Krista recalled she did not believei t . Krista stated t r ~ t around this time, she can not remember where,or how she got out of the building. Her friends, Nicole and Lydiahave explained to her the following information. The three gir l s ,along with about 20 other students went into the auditorium, ranthrough i t and exited out into th e north hallway upstairs . Theycontinued out passed the counselor! s area and exited out of thebuilding behind the gymnasium. Outside they had to jump over a highfence, which Zach Heckler helped her over. She recalled, she did not"freeze up", and was defini tely running. She jus t could not recal ldetai ls of her exi t out of the building. Krista ' s mother stated thatKrista has been attending therapy to help her with th is trauma. Hertherapis t advised them that memory lapses ff such as these under thesecircumstance are not unusual.

    Krista s t at.ed she has no memory of seeing any gunman a f t e r leavingthe cafeter ia . She stated that her gir l f r iends have told her thatthey did not encounter anyone carrying a gun upst.airs, or outsidewhen t.hey exi ted. When they exited the building, they ~ a to Clemontpark. then onto the Hop'S restaurant an Bowles to make phone ca l l s .She recalled that her boyfriend, E ric Jackson was now with them. Shecalled her mother, who is a teacher at Ken Carle middle school. Hermother confi rmed she received a cal l from Krista around 12:00 noon.Krista s ta te d th at Eric JaCKson'S father picked up the kids from Hopsand drove them to Nicole Markham's house on S. Pierce Ct. Nicole 'shouse was locked, so Nicole's neighbor offered ill telephone to thekids. Krista had promised her mother she would cal l a second time

    Kris ta ' s mother s t a t ed tha t Detect ive Rick Gr i f f i th from CEI andanother Detect ive had cal l ed to speak with them a few days ago. Theywere asking questions about Kristals involvement with the TCM r as shehad been i den t i f i ed as an a ss oc ia te o f th i s group.

    I asked Kris ta about h er co ntac t with the TCM. She s ta ted tha t l a s tschool year she began hanging out with Nicole Markham and ChrisMorris. They would go midnight bowling and watch m ovies. A coupleof the boys in t h i s group began wearing t r-enchcoa t s and the termt rechcoat mafia was s ta r ted . She s ta ted t ha t a the r s tudents gavethem th i s name. They a l l thought the name was cool , because it se tthem apart from other stul:ients. Krista s tated she did not wear at renchcoat . Kris ta took a picture of the group, and gave it to theschool yea rbook ccmmitt ee to have it prin ted in the yearbook. Allpic tures submit ted l ike these , required a nar ra t ive about thepic ture . They decided to w rite t renchcoat mafia and a few words tha twere pr in ted . She s ta ted th at Dylan Klebold and E ric H arr is beganhanging out with the group sometime a f te r the pic ture was taken.Eric and Dylan were close with Nate Dykeman, but never gave anyind ica t i cn they were so angry a t the school . Kris ta sa id she knewnothing about any plans o r the in tent ions Eric Harr is and DylanKlebold.

She also heard someone say there was agun. She then heard noises, which she believed were gunfire earningfrom the West. She got under the table and was looking towards thewest, out the windows. She saw a person wearing a long black coat ,carrying what looked l i k e a long barrel ~ ~ She described the gunas dark in color with about a 1 2 ' barrel . The person was near thenorthwest corner of the bui lding, on the outside.     at Columbine High School, was interviewed a t her home by SpecialAgent (SAl Ricky V. Wright regarding the incident that took placeon 04/20/1999 at Columbine High School. After being advis ed asto the identi ty of the interviewing agent and the natu re of th einterview, Helm provided the following information:Helm has been working as a kitchen worker at ColumbineHigh School for the las t two years. H e l ~ s duties includecooking, cleaning, and serving. Helm normally works from 7: 30 amto 1:.30 pm. On the day of the shooting, Helm a=ived a t work atapproximately 7: 30 am and served breakfast unt i l 9: 30 am in thebreakfast serving l ine. Helm did not recal l seeing anyone bringin any large duffle bags that morning. Helm advised that thejani tors have the r espons ib i li ty o f cleaning up in the commonsarea, but Helm thought i t unlikely that any duffle bags orbackpacks were in the commons a rea before t he s tudent s Came in

    f i r s t period. Helm had read in the newspaper that there was abomb in the kitchen area. Helm did not believe that any largeduffle bags could have been in th e k it chen area, because of thet ra f f i c from the kitchen workers.

    During lunch, Helm was serving lunch in the eas te rnmos tlunch l ine. Helm f i r s t became aware that something was going on ,when she heard squ eals and saw students running and climbingunder tables. SOmeone yelled for everyone to get down becausethere was shooting. Some students r an behind the luncb l ines .Helm and other members of the kitchen s taff took COVer in thelaundry room located at the back of the k it chen area. Helm l a te rlearned that other students and members of the s taf f hid in theneighboring office. Helm advised that there were 18 individualsin her room, including t eacher s, s tuden ts , and kitchen workers.Among th e k itc hen workers were Linda Last Name unknown(LNUl,Marlene Netterman(phoneticl, and Sue LNU.

    The laundry room door is a heavy door and lockedautomatically. The laundry room is quite small and was verycrowded.
