It covers issues surrounding chronic illness, premature mortality, and other health-related topics.
All 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Washington D.C. participate.
Columbia County participated in county level BRFSS studies sponsored by Hometown Health.

A telephone survey of 851 randomly selected adults from Columbia County.
Of the 851 interviews, 285 were with men and 566 were with women.
