Columbia Academy is a member of the NCSA, which represents 88 Christian schools throughout the U.S. "Coach Lansdell is very deserving of this award because of how effectively he trains young men to be men of God,” said CA President Dr. James A. " Lansdell has been coaching at Columbia Academy since he joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2010. In 2012, he took over the role as Head Coach and during his three-year tenure in this position, he has coached the Bulldogs to a 33-5 record overall reaching several historic milestones. In 2013, the team made its second quarterfinal appearance since 1984. In 2014, the team achieved its first undefeated regular season record, hosted the quarterfinals for the first time, and had the school’s first Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Finalist. In 2015, the team reached the State Semifinals for the first time and had two Mr. Football finalists. For the past three seasons, the Bulldogs have also been District Champions. _______________________________________________________

Charlie Lansdell named ‘Coach of the Year,” p. 2 In addition to his work at CA, Lansdell has coached at three other NCSA schools in his almost 20 year career coaching football. He served as an assistant coach at Jackson Christian School for nine years, a head coach at Nashville Christian School for three years, and an assistant coach at Lipscomb Academy where he was on the coaching staff of the 2006 State Runner-Up team under the late, legendary coach Glenn McCadams. “I'm very humbled and honored to receive this award,” Lansdell said. “It is a direct result of the people I have been honored to coach with over the years as mentors, and those I have chosen to surround myself with at Columbia Academy. I have a talented coaching staff, a supportive network of parents and boosters, and great administrators at CA. To me, this award represents that our program is receiving recognition for doing things the right way and fulfilling the mission of our school. I look forward to continued excellence on the field and helping our young men to grow stronger in their relationships with God.”
