SOUTHEAST METRO NATURAL GAS PROJECT Project Overview Xcel Energy proposes to install, operate, and maintain approximately five miles of 20-inch-diameter-steel natural gas pipe and associated gas system facilities. The Southeast Metro Natural Gas Project will allow Xcel Energy to continue providing the safe, reliable natural gas service our customers expect in the southeastern Denver metropolitan area. Additionally, the project will provide flexibility in the operation of our natural gas system. The project begins near the intersection of South Yosemite Avenue and East Hampden Avenue in Denver and ends near the intersection of East Caley Avenue and South Troy Circle in Centennial. Project work will occur in parts of unincorporated Arapahoe County, Aurora, Centennial, Cherry Creek State Park, Denver, and Greenwood Village. Project Schedule Construction could start as soon as summer 2020. We anticipate that construction – including restoring work areas and bringing the pipe into service – could be completed by the end of 2021. We are currently requesting permits for the project. Project schedule is subject to change. Project Communications One of the goals of this project is to ensure that we maintain consistent communication with our stakeholders – elected officials, government agencies, businesses, property owners, residents and schools. Prior to construction starting, businesses, residents and other impacted parties near the project area will be notified about construction start dates and property access needs. Amongst others, notification tactics will include direct mail, electronic and static notification roadside signage and targeted social media.
