A good product can only be produced with the right material and right technology. At the end, in real world, there are no magicians who can turn low quality products to good quality. Therefore, our philosophy of carefully selecting the right materials enables Tece to ensure the consistent quality of our products.

In an article series, we will explain each advantages of using Tece product in the long term. In this first article, we will discuss the possibility edgebanding to change color or fade color overtime.

Using the right matching edgebanding to the panel is utmost important. Yet, what would you do if the perfectly-matched edgebanding turns into the worst colored edgebanding after 2 months.

Yes, that is correct; there is a probability that the edgebanding that you used can fade or become yellowish after 2-3 months.

Let us discuss this in details:

1. The pigment in the PVC mixture

pigment in details.v2Pigment is the element which colorizes the PVC to the desired color during the process. Without pigment, the color of PVC would be always gray.

Pigment can cost from 5 euro to 50 euros. Both cheaper and expensive quality will give the right color to the edgebanding. Yet, can they remain in the same color after sometime or after they are exposed to direct sunlight for a while? What if after three months the very white turns into yellowish white. Your panel color will remain the same. Shall you replace the furniture?

At Tece, we use pigment with the highest value of lightfastness.

In the world of pigments and inks, the term, ‘lightfastness’, describes the durability of color and how well they stand up to exposure to light. Sunlight and other artificial lighting can cause a reaction on ink and pigments and can cause the color to fade or change over time with exposure. The measurement of lightfastness is done on a blue

woolscale. On the woolscale, it can change between 1 and 8; 8 being the strongest and 1 being the weakest.

Identifier w200x50hAt Tece, our pigment rating changes from 6 to 8 on the blue woolscale. Therefore, we can guarantee that our color will not change overtime.Ink for the printing process

At Tece, we are using the latest technology of UV to print our designs and decors on PVC substrate. The UV inks have the highest lightfastness which can be found in the market. It changes between 6 and 8 on the blue woolscale.

No matter how much our edgebanding is exposed to the sunlight, they will remain in the same color. This is guaranteed by both our company as well as our ink supplier.Top UV Coating

The UV coating is a clear top coat without any color. Yet the

coating can become yellowish if it is not the right quality.

We can gain much more profit if we are to use the cheaper material during our processes. Yet, in the long term, we believe that those, who sell quality and give the right product to the customers, will succeed; the rest will fade away just like the low quality of edgebanding.

Like the previous 8 years, Tece participated in Interzum Guangzhou 2014 for the 9th time between March 28th and April 1st, 2014.

This year, there is no Interzum Cologne; thus, this exhibition was the most important and the biggest component fair in the world in the year of 2014.

With our attractive scenery in the back wall, we were excited to welcome our visitors at our stand.We like to thank all who visited our stand at this fair.

Tece At Zow - Istanbul 2014 As previous years, Tece participated in ZOW exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey. The exhibition was held between March 20th and 23rd, 2014.

With river style of high gloss edgebanding, Tece stand attracted much attention.

We like to thank all visitors for their visit.
