Registration for First-Year Success Courses Students may choose from the following ACA success courses
ACA 122 - College Transfer Success Recommended for any students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution after CCCC.ACA 115 - Success and Study Skills Recommended for students enrolled in A.A.S. degrees who do not intend to transfer to a four-year institution. Specific sections are noted below for health programs, and these courses will be capped at zero
Eligible Programs for Success Course Effective Spring 2014, the success course requirement expanded into most programs of study (POS). New Students should be advised to register for a success course.
Returning StudentsA returning student may be exempt from enrolling in the success course if he/she: •Enrolledpriortofall2013orfallsunderapreviousprogramofstudythat doesnotincludethecourse(seeaboveforadetailedlist),and •Hasmaintainedcontinuousenrollment(nomorethanonesemesternotenrolled),and •ENG-111Awillbewaivediftheyarefromapreviouscatalogandhavenotyettaken ENG-111oriftheytookitatanotherinstitution.Thoseinapreviouscatalogwill notberequiredtotakeanACAcoursetosupplementENG-111.
Note: Students who enroll and do not have previous ACA credit may appeal the success course requirement in the following order: (1) the department chair, (2) curriculum dean, and (3) VP of Student Services.ThecaseforappealwillbeespeciallystrongforstudentswhohaveearnedahighnumberofearnedcreditstowardCCCCgraduationrequirements,haveasatisfactorycumulativeGPA,and/orhavepreviously-earnedcredentials.
