pursue college-level studies while still

in high school — giving you the

chance to earn college credit and

stand out in the college admission

process.

Through AP you can acquire the

knowledge and skills that just might

become the foundation of your future

college major or career.

Talk to your teachers and school

counselor about which AP courses

your school offers, and what you can

do to prepare for them. Talking to

current AP students will also give you

a good idea of what AP classes are

like and what will be expected from

you.

point average of 3.0 or above .

Students must be a high school

junior or senior to participate in

the program

Students must take a State

approved college-level placement

test (ACT, SAT, PERT). The student

must pass all portions of the test

upon accumulation of 12 college

credits.

The school provides 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students the

opportunity to simultaneously earn both a high school diploma and transferable college credit or a college degree. Collegiate High School is free of charge.

This includes free college tuition and fees, free college

and high school textbooks, free tutoring, and the assignment of a free laptop computer to each

student.

Founded the Midwest Latino Health Research, Training and Policy Center at the University of Illinois. At a young age, she knew the definition of poor. It meant gangs and drugs in the

Spanish Harlem neighborhood where she lived. She had to start working when she was 13. Aida found her way to Chicago through a post-

graduate research project with Northwestern University. After

receiving her doctorate in sociology, she settled in

Chicago to focus on social work.
