College Park’s Newest Additions By Madeline Dang The first addition is Milkboy ArtHouse, a performance venue, restaurant, and craft bar all in one. The design of Milkboy Arthouse was actually inspired by UMD students and the commu- nity. Performances will feature a variety of UMD’s own students, faculty, and alumni. Milkboy ArtHouse’s opening day was May 2, so you can stop by anytime now. Two pizza places are also set to open in the summer, Lotsa Stone Fired Pizza and Potomac Pizza. Lotsa, which is opening at the former Terrapin Row leasing office, features build-your-own pizzas at $7.99 for an 11-inch pizza with five toppings. Potomac Piz- za will open underneath the Hotel. Although Potomac Pizza does not offer build-your-own pizzas, it does have a wide variety of pizzas to Source: Milkboy ArtHouse Facebook Page choose from as well as the option to customize a cheese pizza with additional toppings. If you prefer something other than pizza, Potomac Pizza will also be serving subs, sandwiches, and other popular Italian dishes. The Halal Guys became famous for their fusion of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Initial- ly based in New York, this will be their first restaurant opened in Maryland. The restaurant will open in August between ZIPS Dry Cleaners and 7-Eleven. Right above The Halal Guys will be Junction Vintage, a vintage clothing and furniture store offer- ing goods and styles ranging from the 1930s to the 1990s. The store is moving to College Park from its former Washington, D.C. location. It will open in June. Two coffeehouses will be opening up this year: Vigilante Coffee and D3 Coffee and Ale House. Vigilante Coffee will open at the former location of #1 Liquors. They pride themselves in making coffee with unique flavors using coffee beans from countries around the world. Vigilante Coffee is set to open sometime this summer, and prices will start at $2.50 per cup. Towards the end of this year, we will see the opening of D3 Coffee and Ale House at the former location of College Park Auto Parts. They plan to serve an assortment of food, craft beer, wine, and coffee for customers to savor while enjoying a live on-stage performance. A lot of change is coming to Route 1 as the Greater College Park Plan is underway. These are just a few of the many things to look forward to once the fall semester begins! The Primannum Honor Soci-ety is a University of Maryland Honor Society that represents two national honor societies, Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma. Both of these na-tional honor societies recognize academic excellence during a student’s first year in college.

DIY Popsicles By: Jill Yant

There is no better way to enjoy a hot summer day than sitting outside and enjoying an ice-cold popsicle. If your school year has drained you of cash or you are feeling crafty, you may be interested in making popsicles on your own.

Here is a simple how to make your own popsicles!1. Pick your favorite fruit and blend it (or choose from a recipe listed below)2. Pour in dixie cups or commercially sold popsicle molds3. Make lids out of tin foil for your cups and insert popsicle sticks4. Freeze overnight5. Release the popsicle (Go Green—Reuse Cups!)6. Eat and enjoy!
