Internships
• Internships while studying are very valuable for students and employers alike
• Provide practical experience as part of student’s engineering/CS education.
• Provides for foot in the door for intern at sponsoring company
• Provide potential employers with opportunity to closely evaluate a prospective employee
International Internships• Value of internship rises dramatically if international• Provides a wealth of experiences that go much
beyond technical and corporate experience of domestic internship

General Selection Process
1. Group A and B applications are completed and submitted by student candidates by posted deadline.1. Submit via www.studyabroad.ucf.edu
2. UCF committee meets and selects the best candidates for interviewing by committee members
3. Successful candidates are passed on to FH Erfurt (Group A) or to HS Bremen (Group B) for their consideration
4. Group C is a different (and yet-undetermined) process1. Looking for interested students first
Group A Application Process• We will use the same general selection process for
both, Siemens and MDC Power.• UCF will forward the successful candidates to FH Erfurt
for their concurrence• Those passing the FHE filter will be forwarded to either
Siemens or MDC Power (but not both simultaneously)• Siemens/MDC Power will contact the student they
would like to hire directly and negotiate with him/her• Apply online www.studyabroad.ucf.edu
• Summer Engineering Internship Exchange at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences
• Next deadline: October 1, 2018
Group B Application Process
• The same general process will be used.• HSB will send successful applicants to the various
partner companies to seek interest• Apply online www.studyabroad.ucf.edu
‘Engineering Internship Exchange at Hochschule Bremen’• There will be rolling deadlines.
• Applications (complete ones) received by 5:00 PM of the last working day of each month will be considered during the following month
• If opportunities have been announced by HSB, the successful application will be forwarded to HSB
• Note that opportunities may not be available every month –we have no way of knowing that very far in advance.
Interested?• Each opportunity is different
• May have to move quickly for some• We have some good prior experience
with Siemens but not so with the others
• May have to figure things out as we go• Deadlines will vary according to
program and desired date of start. • Most importantly, we need to gauge
your interest and your desired starting dates
