college magazine: review
DESCRIPTION
Personal review of my preliminary taskTRANSCRIPT
I wanted to make sure that the cover of my magazine be appealing to the primary audience, so I included sell-lines that 16-19year-olds might be
interested in. I will also use these methods when I create my music magazine so that it will look more authentic, and will appeal to fans of the genre of the
magazine.
Creating my college magazine
Explain the
thoughts behind
the design for your
college magazine.
When creating my college
magazine in Photoshop, I followed
the design of my flat plan but also
changed and added certain
features where I felt there was
room for improvement. I think that
the adjustments I made make the
cover and the contents page more
appealing as there’s more to look
at.
Who is your audience by age, gender and
audience code? How does your
magazine link to that? The audience for a college magazine is college
students. This would be young adults between the
ages of 16-18 in higher education. The magazine
would appeal to the primary audience as it would
contain information relent to college life, or
information that would be interesting to people of the
age group of the potential readers.
How did you edit your images? What
skills have you picked up by doing
this?I edited my images in a lot of different ways,
including Free Transform and Filter Gallery. This has
helped me gain a better understanding of how to
work using Photoshop, and also to become more
familiar with the program.
Are you happy with your
college magazine?I think that my college
magazine is of a good
standard for my first try of
creating a magazine in
Photoshop. However, I think
that the contests for my
magazine could have been
better as it does not look
very appealing, nor like
something that would be in
an actual magazine.
