What is a college magazine?

• A college magazine is when an independent college releases a magazine every month or annually which explains more about the college and campus life and where students can also have an input as to what goes in the magazine and also can be included.

• Also university’s produce magazines but you will find that university magazines are more sophisticated and will include articles that you may not find interesting as a college student.

Wolfson College

• From looking at this magazine I can tell that the college is very sophisticated, the font of the magazine is plain and the same. This college magazine is unlike the others I have looked into as for the first several pages are photo’s of the president of the college on certain trips with what I can tell very important people. Not very much input is put in by students as much as other college magazines, this college magazine shows the sophistication of college magazines and how different each magazine can be.

Lewisham College• From looking at the front cover already

you can tell that this magazine will be completely from the one I previously looked at. This magazine includes a lot of different fonts and bright colours and a lot of students are involved. Like every college magazine there is always a short column by the principal and a contents page. There is an article from a student who previously attended the college and what she’s up to now. And also a few pages and clubs where fresher's can go to get help settling in so there is a lot of student involvement.

Dulwich College

• Again this college magazine is one of a more sophisticated and formal magazine. There are lots of different articles but they are all organized in different subject groups. There is also staff news which tells me that this magazine isn't just for students but for staff members as well. The font styles and colours are all plain and simple which tells us a lot about this college and how it could well be a private school of some sort.
