00:08 Survivor Radu Stancu – It was the last agreement with the guitar

and the end of the song. Suddenly the fireworks began. Flame stalled

on the wall, and then the whole ceiling flame filled in the club in lessthan 10 seconds.

We struggled to get out of the door. The door was only one and aquite small! Just before reaching the exit, we were struggling from theback and I fell down.

I was caught between humans. I grabbed my hand like this. The rest of my body was covered by other people bodys. I suffered injures

at my head because occasionally I was trying to get more fresh air.

00:28 Witness Savior - Florin Andone – Everything was very strange. No

Burst ! There were only flames. You were never at the Collective?! It's

downstairs. In a factory. A club in a factory. Yes ! There were foreigners

people too. I put some injured people in the ambulance and police cars. It

came just a rescue car. When we called, they thought we were making a

joke. It was terrible.

Romania, right? Welcome to Romania. What can I say ?

00:48 Witness 2 Savior Ioana Andone – I saw the fire. I was at my home

window and saw the fire. I helped people. I came quickly and helpedmany people. They were wounded. I put some of the men that I couldcarry on the ambulances. In a moment there were 10 patients on arescue team car .

1:13 RAed Arafat – Head of Smurd - Emergency and Rescue Actions - I will

give you some information about the victims in hospitals. 50 injured were

transported in Floreasca Hospital.

1:20- Romanian Citizen –This tragedy marked me. In the last twenty years I

have lived abroad. I arrived Friday in Bucharest and suddenly everyone

called me.

3:00 – Narrator A.Buzica –In the same night, people of all ages, formed

queues at blood donation centers. In Romania were days of national

solidarity. Bucharest residents were shocked. All had an acquaintance or a

close friend who knew someone injured or dead during the Goodbye to

gravity concert.I met Michael at the center of transfusions.

3:20 - MIchael Citizen – Donator- I was shocked first. I wanted to help. I

wanted to come and make a difference. Everybody says weRomanians do not get involved. But how many people I have seenhere, it is not so. We help each other ! We have deep feeling! We should always donate blood. To substitute the lack of plasmafrom Romania.I donated for Colective victims. I came at 11 o clock and I donated in 3 and a half o clock, and the Bucharest residents kept coming

4:00 – Narrator A.Buzica – Three days of national mourning were

declared in Romania. The Factory where the club was located,became a place of pilgrimage. The second day after the fire, peopleorganized a March of Silence

I we chatted with Florina, a young Bucharest resident. It was the firsttime when the street voice being heard among tears and pain

4:20 – Reporter- What do you think is going to change now ? Is a Silent

protest. Why are you here ?

04:24- Florina Tudica- Protester - I hope that the young ones would

realize what's really happening in the country! I do not know if it willchange anything, and I don t know if someone will take any action.But I hope that someone will take measures. It does not happen thefirst time. Such was the case of the club in Consntanta, when two

dancers were burned alive.,It was happening at maternity with the babies and was happening here with a bunch of young people.

I'm here because I want stringent controls in all the clubs in Romania.I want to know if they had place approval. I want the mayor of district4 to pay for the tragedy!

5:00 – Narrator A.Buzica – During the investigation came to light that two

firefighters who have given approvals for the operation of the club, did not

report irregularities discovered. The two firefighters who gave the

approvals didn’t even knew about the existence of the club in that factory.

5:10 – Narrator A.Buzica - It was the moment when people became

outraged and put all the guilt on the system back. Citizens soughtprincipal culprits in the street.

After the first night of protests, resignations occurred at the highestlevel.

) -Thousands of people participate in the march, which started from theuniversity Square and is going now to the Government. There arethousands of people who joined the march.

firefighters, doctors and authorities who did their job.

11:50 - Alex Buzica - Narrator - It was increasingly difficult for me to speak

about the numbers of the ones who deceased. On the last day of the

Protest, Romania President, Klaus Johannis came and spoke with the

citizen from the University Square.

12: 02 - Alex Buzica - Narrator – In the streets, Romanian people were

still searching for the culprits! The passage of time makes the fault to

be common. Bribes and corruption killed in the Collective? Laws?The low level of living? Or indifference of the citizens? Those were just some of the answers I ve been looking among civil society shortlyafter the end of the Big Protest.

12:22 - Female Citizen Bucharest –We feel an immense pain and a really

deep silence. However, I have a misunderstanding and anger. Why the

Church did not donate money for hospitals !

12: 41 - Bucharest Citizen Female.- The priests made so much money, andthey have raised thousands of euro with holy relics! Where is the church

people. Now, they have a point less. I can not believe they did notsay a pray at the site of tragedy with all the Romanian people andespecially with all the youth gathered. It's amazing! It's amazing!

speak with a priest, but in this case the priests were not being presented in the life of the citizens. Shame the Church ! Unfortunately…

13:20 - Bucharest Female Citizen - I wanted to say those things. The

Priests Are full of money, do all kinds of business! With wine, withtourism, but they don’t donate to hospitals. They do it only when theyare contrained.

my kids are going to rock concerts and I'm glad that they were home on

October 30.

to say.

13:52- Reporter - I see hundreds of people at the site of tragedy turned

into a place of pilgrimage, here from where we talk in these moments for

Radio Romania.

This tragedy changed us ?

14:01- Female Citizen Andreea Birsan - Parent - I hope that the

Romanians will be changed after this. Although, in this society verydisunited, we really showed unity! We need to not forget whathappened here and I hope we will stay united.

But unfortunately not only in us stand this change. I think Wegathered here in the vain, I think the power lies in those who chose toenter politics. Unfortunately, out of contempt, for 25 years thepoliticians have not been shown anything.

give health to those who are on the hospital bed.

15: 00 - Male Citizen - I know that it is very difficult to talk and to

express my pain. I came from beneath and what I saw today isoutrageous. I can not believe! It was a crematorium here. It's painful.

15:20- Male Citizen - I have children, we have children, it can happen

to anyone, I put myself in the shoes of parents who have lost theiryoung people, very civilized people, some of them intellectuals,

architects. Yes, I know everything about victims, because one ofthose who died was my child's teacher at the faculty of architecture.

was an error at all levels and everything starts from the top down, not the

reverse.

to be taken now, I scream! The whole soul of man, intellectuals,politicians.. I want to leave state institutions through theirrepresentatives and to come out and tell us something.

nurse was held responsible for the death of that little childs, is just aresult of the mistake and incompetence of the Romanian system.

insecure and unsafe for the people. Bucharest is not only insecure, the

dreaming that I'll be retired and I live as a visitor arriving from the West.

Romania has formed a new technocrat government.

18:15 p.m. Narrator A.Buzica – In The tragedy of the Colectiv, the people

who did not died because of the fire, were killed by toxic gas, said theINSEMEX Report. Chemists who contributed to the case, found 24 toxic

substances emitted in the club when the fire erupted.Everything burned

in 153 seconds, from the air vents mounted outside the entrance ofthe club, to the smallest piece of furniture and interior. From scenethere was remained only the metal frame.

tragedy. It is an independent underground artists instrumentalist whocollaborates with many Romanian bands.

On the night of the tragedy, he came to speak on the phone. The phone

was the one who saved my life. Then I helped the wounded to leave the

club.

How he sees Romania ?

the pyrotechnic effects.

The team should mean something united and the all country is notunited. We are not united on many levels. Especially on the politicalstage. In my oppion there were a few protesters on the streets.

underway.

Alin Anastasescu, Paul Costin Gancea and Mincu, the three shareholders of

the club are accused of manslaughter in the case of fire and were placed

under house arrest.

22: 31- Narrator - Alex Buzica - Regarding security clearance to fire the club

Collective and controls that should have made the Bucharest Inspectorate

for Emergency Situations, the DNA military prosecutors have opened a

criminal case and put under charged two employees from ISU, respectively

Captains Antonina Radu and Petre Matei George.

22:48 - Narrator - Alex Buzica – Also, the prosecutors put under arrest the

fireworks company - Nita Daniela (administrator), Cristian Nita (Director)

and Viorel Zaharia (pyrotechnics).

Collective was the fault of the people who were in administration.They

allowed a large number of people over the limit of the club. The club was

not provided with several escape routes in case of emergency and thedeployment of a show with pyrotechnics was strictly forbidden.
