~ Sale of 2100 Lots of Machinery, Pigs & Poultry ~

~ A wonderful entry of equipment saw over 600 registered buyers purchasing
goods from 202 vendors ~
A really good entry of pigs saw a top call of £190 given for the best of the
breeding consignment in from Messrs RI & JF Phipps of Exbourne going to
their new home in Bude. Top of the cull sows came in from Mr KJ Moore
of Whitstone reaching £162 with others from Edward Bailey of Werrington
at £161.
Topping the prime stock was Mr T Cockayne of Altarnun, Cornwall at £122 with Richard and Vicky Gibbins of Poltimore at £120, £117 seven times and
£116 for their superb run of 90 – 93 kg white pigs. Mr A Spry of Yelverton
hit £115 with his best going off to Rosenannon in West Cornwall with the
best of the stores hitting £70 for two vendors.
In the goat pens trade was excellent with Mr N Martin of Treclago, North
Cornwall seeing his part dispersal top at £92 for the pick of the line up of 5
– 7 month old goats with the best stores 4 weeks old selling to £30.
A huge day selling to a massive crowd of over
600 registered buyers saw a top call of
£14,400 for the Case JX90 tractor on behalf
of James and Judith Kirkbride of Tideford in
South East Cornwall. The same good dispersal
sold their post banger well at £4750 going to
its new home on Dartmoor.
Bernard Allin sold his Ford 4000 vintage
tractor at £4500 with Mike Vanstone of
Kilkhampton selling his MF135 at £4200. A
huge entry of machinery sold to a wonderful
trade with lot 248 being a log trailer and grab from Mr RJB
Balsdon hitting £2550 whilst Richard Jellard saw his new baler (small) race away to £2500 a price matched by Mr K Bailey for
his verge topper. A good entry of 4 x 4’s and quad bikes saw the
2010 Honda sell to £2300 going to Launceston and the best of 23
trailers topped at £2100 for the livestock trailer from Messrs JE
& J Kirkbride of Tideford.
Over 200 new tools and goods came down from Chepstow,
Wales on behalf of Messrs Rural Excess selling to a top call of
£130 for the best of the power saws.

A mammoth entry of non VAT goods included the third
dispersal sale of the day. The sale was of forestry goods and
equipment on behalf of Vicky Palmer, Werrington and
included the Posch Spaltfix S-360 log splitter which sold to
£13,000 whilst their best two county tractors reached
£6800 each. Their land rover tipper sold well at £1200 with
the log trailers at £725 and £350. Our fourth dispersal
came up from St Dominick near Plymouth and included the
MGB sports car which sold to Hampshire at a superb
£7600 following somewhat of a bidding war with three away bidders on the phone and six bidders in the auction
yard.
The Hillman Minx sold to £1000 whilst their
MF35 tractor hit £4000 going to Wiltshire,
trailer at £320 and Rotavator at £300.
Edward Scott of Liskeard saw plenty of
interest for his 1658 Fordson Major selling to
£2600 with the best of 14 trailers in the non
vat section hitting £2000 for Mr KP Bowen of
Launceston. A total of 26 vans, cars and 4WD
vehicles saw a top call of £1700 for the Jeep
on behalf of Chris West of Kent in South East
England with the best of the older Discoverys
4 x 4 to £1500.
Quality lots of granite included Mushrooms to £490, Mill Stones to
£425 and small troughs to £160 all on behalf of Mr M Simpson of
Wadebridge.
A huge line up of garden equipment included a Kubota ride on
mower which reached £1100 with other ride on mowers between
£750 - £1000. Lots of cutters and tools ranged from £40 - £45 with
a 97% clearance in this section. On a day where the auction site was
full it was fantastic to have to sell the first 100 lots in the overflow
car park.
A slightly smaller entry of poultry saw the trade a little easier however quality still selling well!!
Top call of the day was £32 for a trio of Millefleur from Messrs M & J Stacey, Torpoint whilst Ben Anstey of
Hatherleigh saw his Bantams reach £28.
Poultry sold at Holsworthy from as far afield as Bethal, Callington, Wadebridge and Bude in Cornwall and
Tiverton, Exeter and Axminster in Devon.
