1. Empty and rinse containers. Containers with contents remaining cannot be recycled and can harm workers or damage machinery. Rinsing helps reduce odours and pests.

2. Add materials loose to the recycling container. Only shredded paper should be inside a see-through plastic bag before being added to recycling.

3. Save space by flattening and squashing boxes and cartons. Containers that held the same contents, for example yogurt pots, can be nested, too.

Please leave recycling at least 2m away from garbage cans to avoid damage to recycling containers.

Packaging and printed paper accepted for recycling

Newspapers, inserts, flyers, catalogues, magazines, telephone booksPlace loose in container. Remove from plastic wrap.

Household paper, paper gift wrap, greeting cardsBoxboard boxesRemove liners and food. Flatten and place in recycling container.
