Relationship with methane

Conclusions on rumen digesta proxies

• Oral samples useful for bacteria and archaea

• Bolus samples needed for protozoa• Faecal samples of no predictive value

(BUT archaeol, etc.)• Oral sampling will facilitate sampling of

large cohorts without surgical intervention: breeding, inventory
