In our first reading, we hear more about the growing pains of the early Church. The Apostles were doing something that had never been before, building a community of believers in Jesus Christ, Son of God. There were bound to be misunderstandings and differences of opinion. Even today, as the Church of Boston focuses on strengthening evangelization efforts and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ people are hesitant to put their faith into action. Jesus’ words in today’s Gospel sustained the early Church, and they must sustain us also: “Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” Rely on the Holy Spirit – the Advocate – who is still with us.

Collaborative Mass for Our Newly-Baptized

Sunday, June 9th at 10am St. Joseph Parish

In conjunction with the Feast of Pentecost, the "birthday" of the Church, on Sunday, June 9th, we invite all of our newly baptized - those who were baptized at Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Joseph Parishes this past year (from May 1st of 2018 through May 31st of 2019) to attend the 10am Collaborative Mass for the Newly-Baptized at St. Joseph Church for a special blessing.

There will be a reception with light refreshments immediately following the Mass next door in the St. Joseph Social Center. We so hope that many of you will be able to join us. If you could please contact the parish offices at 781-396-0423 by June 3rd to let us know whether or not you will be attending, and how many from your family are planning to come, we would be most appreciative.

Sixth Sunday of Easter

Inspiring Hope at St. Joseph Parish! Inspiring Hope at St. Joseph continues to gain momentum as we reach out to every family to challenge them to a call to stewardship. To date, we have had tremendous success - $163,000 has been committed from only 20 gifts! This is 28% towards our goal of $600,000. This

overwhelming response is the result of the support of generous parishioners like you. This support will help St. Joseph by allowing us to address a key project in our Parish Social Center that will ensure that we can use the building for years to come. Over the next few days and weeks, Campaign Ambassadors will be contacting parishioners to ask for their support and participation in this critical campaign. We hope that when you are called upon to contribute to this effort, you will lend your generous support.

Inspiring Hope at St. Francis of Assisi!

Inspiring Hope at St. Francis Assisi continues to gain momentum as we reach out to every family to challenge them to a call to stewardship. To date, we have had tremendous success - $145,500 has been committed from only 20 gifts! This is 39% towards our goal of $375,000.

This overwhelming response is the result of the support of generous parishioners like you. This support will help St. Francis Assisi by allowing us to address three key goals: - Adding a handicap-accessible bathroom in the upper church - Replacing or repairing the HVAC in our Parish Center - Waterproofing the Parish Center Auditorium Over the next few days and weeks, Campaign Ambassadors will be contacting parishioners to ask for their support and participation in this critical campaign. We hope that when you are called upon to contribute to this effort, you will lend your generous support.

Our Book Club selected You’re Worth It! by Danielle Bean

to read and share in discussion.

We have a limited number of copies of the book available at our office for purchase at a discounted rate of $10.50.

From the book’s author, Danielle Bean, we receive this invitation: "So much about our world today is empty and cold. If some of that emptiness and coldness has seeped into your heart, I pray this book will warm you, just a bit, to the idea that you were made for something better, something bigger, and something new. You were made for an intimate relationship with a God who knows you and loves you inside and out.”

If you are interested in joining the Book Club, please contact the Parish Office to sign up.
