Swami Vivekananda Chair Fund Development Campaign
DCF has undertaken a nation-wide campaign to raise 1.65 million dollars towards the
establishment of the “Swami Vivekananda-DCF Endowed Chair in Modern India & Indian
Diaspora Studies” at UCI, through large scale participation from the Dharma-Heritage
Community.
Here’s a rousing call to all those who are willing to see India’s Culture, Civilization, Dharma
Traditions & Knowledge Systems to be available in American Universities for the benefit of
present and future generations, until perpetuity (the Chair will remain functional as long as the
University exists)

Our Journey
Funded 2 years of “Swami Vivekananda Visiting Faculty position in Hindu Studies”, at the University
Of Southern California (USC), with Dr. Rita Sherma, as the appointed Scholar-Practitioner.
Funded 2 years of “Swami Vivekananda Fellowship in Dharma Studies”, at the University of
California, Irvine (UCI)
Established two Endowed Chairs, at a cost of 2 million dollars each – one being the “Thakkar
Family-DCF Endowed Chair in Vedic & Indic Civilizational Studies” and the other titled “Swami
Vivekananda-DCF Endowed Chair in Modern India & Indian Diaspora Studies”, at UCI.
The above two Chairs along with a Chair each in Jain & Sikh Studies, will form the nucleus for the
creation of a vibrant and World-class “India Center” at UCI
A firm commitment of 4.4 million dollars, towards the creation of the "Center for Dharma Studies" by
Mira & Ajay Shingal, at the Graduate Theological Union (GTU), at Berkeley, California, with plans to
soon launch accredited MA and PhD programs in Hindu Studies.
Funded three International Academic conferences on the following themes :
“Life, Legacy & relevance of Swami Vivekananda”, at USC, in October 2013
“Yoga, Medicine & Integrative Health” at USC, in October 2014
“Strategic Indic Civilizational Retreat” at SVYASA, Bangalore in February 2015
Funding the “International Journal of Dharma Studies” (by Springer)
Funding Research publications by academic scholars and providing Scholarships to MA & PhD
students in Humanities.
