Once the external user enters their non-Office 365 email address on the user access page they will be redirected to the regular Microsoft page for access.

Depending on your cookies and cache, the external user may receive a message stating they do not have access to the page. They should refresh the page a couple of times, thenclick on the original link in the email. If done correctly, they will see the document.
