RAIDERS SWEEP TO PATRIOT LEAGUE TITLEColgate streaked its way to the conference title Sunday, defeating Army 11-8 for the second tournament championship in program history. Sunday’s win over Army was Colgate’s second against the Black Knights in nine days, handing the Raiders their first Patriot League championship since 2008. The Raiders are returning to the NCAA tournament for the first time since they were an at-large entry in 2012. Cameron Williams scored a natural hat trick to spark Sunday’s win, scoring three times in a five-minute span of the second quarter to give the Raiders the lead for keeps. Williams added another goal in the third to keep Army at bay, while Ryan Walsh scored two goals and Brandon Burke made eight saves.

RAIDERS RACE PAST BUCKNELL, 18-5Colgate blitzed into the Patriot League Tournament title game with a record-breaking victory in Friday’s first semifinal. Matt Clarkson and Ryan Walsh went for seven points apiece as the Raiders set tournament marks for goals in a game and largest winning margin.Clarkson tied his career-high with five goals and set a personal best with seven points. Walsh scored four goals for the second straight game – he has 11 over the last three – and matched his career-high with seven points. RYAN IN THE RECORDSColgate attackman Ryan Walsh is playing his best lacrosse of the season.

The senior captain has been on an awards roll of late. In the span of seven days, Walsh picked up:-- First career Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week,-- All-Patriot League First Team after three turns on the Second Team, and-- Most Valuable Player of the Patriot League Touranament.

News & Notes

DID YOU KNOW????

The Raiders were Inside Lacrosse Magazine’s preseason No. 25 team. Colgate faces seven teams this year ranked in the IL preseason top 25: No. 4 Syracuse, No. 7 Loyola, No. 8 Cornell, No. 14 Bryant, No. 15 Lehigh, No. 18 Army and No. 24 Fairfield.

records books in a number of career categories. For his career, he’s up to 134 goals and 198 points.Walsh stands fourth on the Patriot League goals list and he’s ninth in points. He is third on the Colgate points list, and Walsh is now second in all-time goals after passing the great Bob Woodruff (1980-83). Only Peter Baum (2010-13) had more goals at Colgate with 164.

Walsh just eclipsed Baum on the Colgate assist chart, moving into seventh place with 64 career helpers.

SHOTS ON TARGET; SPECIAL TEAMS RULEColgate was held to a season-low 22 shots by Army in Sunday’s Patriot League championship game, but that’s no problem for one of the nation’s top marksmen teams.

The Raiders converted on 11 of those 22 shots in knocking off the Black Knights, and they were a sizzling 29-of-47 on shots (61.7 percent) in the two-game weekend sweep. In Friday’s semifinal win over Bucknell, the Raiders scored a season-high 18 goals on just 25 shots. For the season, Colgate ranks third nationally in shot percentage at 36.1.

Another key statistic lost in Sunday’s box score was Colgate tied a season-low with just nine turnovers. That, coupled with the Raider sharpshooting, helped offset Army’s 18-5 advantage

in faceoff wins. Colgate continues to excel on special teams. The Raiders stand fourth nationally in man-up offense at 55.8 percent (24-of-43), and they’re eighth in man-down defense at 72.5 percent (11-of-40).

his 28 goals and 40 of his 45 points this year against Patriot League competition ... Senior defenseman Matt Yeager tied a career-high last Friday with three caused turnovers ... The Raiders scored 18 goals on Bucknell in the tournament semifinals, but junior midfielder Cameron Williams saw his streak of scoring at least one goal in every game this season snapped ... Sophomore Robby Dunigan scored his first career goal against Bucknell.

SIX RAIDERS EARN PATRIOT LAX HONORSColgate’s run to a Patriot League regular season championship resulted in postseason

honors for a half-dozen Raiders. Matt Clarkson repeated as an All-Patriot League First Team member in the midfield, and he was joined by attackman Ryan Walsh. Second-team placards went to defender Matt Yeager, midfielder Cameron Williams and goalkeeper Brandon Burke. Anthony Abbadessa became a major award recipient when he was named Patriot League Rookie of the Year – the third Colgate Raider to claim the rookie award in the last four seasons. Three of those four to win the first-year award are among this season’s six Colgate honorees. In addition to Abbadessa,

Burke was last year’s rookie winner and Walsh claimed the trophy in 2012. Abbadessa becomes the sixth Raider to take home Patriot League rookie honors.

RAIDER PAIR NAMEDACADEMIC ALL-PATRIOT LEAGUEColgate’s Matt Yeager and John Baker were named to the 12-man Academic All-Patriot League Team for 2015. Yeager is a history major with a 3.27 GPA who is having a big week of postseason awards (see above). The Westport, Connecticut, native has started all 14 games, contributing 22 ground balls and a team-leading 15 caused turnovers for personal season-highs in both categories. Baker is an economics major with a 3.37 GPA. The Darien, Connecticut, product has started 10 games and posted 27 ground balls for second on the team. He returned from a two-game injury absence last Friday at Army and contributed five ground balls and two caused turnovers – matching career-highs in both categories.

FIRST WEEKLY AWARD FOR WALSH; BURKE EARNS 3RD NODRyan Walsh and Brandon Burke picked up Corvias Patriot League Player of the Week Honors with the win at Army. Walsh was named Offensive Player of the Week after he matched season highs with four goals and six points in Colgate’s 8-5 win at Army. The attackman scored two goals in each half, and three of his goals were unassisted. Walsh scored his four goals on just five shot attempts. Believe it or not, this is Walsh’s first career offensive weekly award -- and first for the Raiders since Peter Baum in 2013. Walsh three times earned rookie of the week in his debut season of 2012.

Burke picked up his third Goalkeeper of the Week selection this season after a nine-save outing Friday at Army. The sophomore made five of his saves during a first-half performance that saw the Raiders head to the locker room leading 4-0.

RAIDERS CLAIM SHARE OF PATRIOT TITLEColgate didn’t quite get the trifecta it needed, but the Raiders did their part and picked up a pretty nice consolation prize: A Patriot League regular season championship.

Colgate climbed into a first-place tie with Navy thanks to a stifling 8-5 victory over 17th-ranked Army at Michie Stadium. It’s the third regular season crown in Raider Men’s Lacrosse history and second in the last four years.

Ryan Walsh scored four goals and assisted on two of the three goals scored by Cameron Williams. Matt Clarkson added the eighth tally as Colgate won its fourth straight game. The Raiders led 4-0 at intermission before Army battled back in the second half. WALSH TAKEN 11TH IN MLL DRAFTThe New York Lizards made Colgate’s Ryan Walsh the 11th overall pick in last month 2015 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. The Long Island-based franchise tabbed Walsh with the third pick of the second round. The Colgate senior is a native of Wantagh, a Long Island community located just a few miles from where he will play his home games with the Lizards at Hofstra’s James M. Shuart Stadium.

Mike Murphy continues to make an impact on Colgate men’s lacrosse. The fourth-year Raiders head coach entered the season with an impressive 31-18 record that includes one NCAA tournament berth and appearances each year in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals. Named to his first head coaching position on July 20, 2011, Murphy led the 2012 Raid-ers to a Patriot League regular-season title en route to the best campaign in program history. Colgate finished 14-4, including a 6-0 road mark, a 6-2 record against nationally-ranked oponents, and a win over undefeated No. 1 Massachusetts in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The NCAA bid was Colgate’s second post-season appearance and its first as an NCAA at-large recipient. The Raiders also secured their first tournament win and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals for the first time in school history. The 2012 team set a total of 29 individu-al and team records, including 13 program marks, 15 Patriot League records and one NCAA season mark with junior Robert Grab-her attempting a total of 433 faceoffs in the season. Murphy also coached the first Colgate and Patriot League player to win the Tewaara-ton Award with junior Peter Baum, who also received the Enners Award and set eight indi-vidual program and league records. Murphy had five members named to the All-Patriot League teams, including 2012 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and the league’s Rookie of the Year. He had two play-ers named All-Americans, with Baum earning first-team honors and Jeff Ledwick landing a spot as honorable mention. Team records set during the season were the Colgate records for most points (365), goals (236) and assists (129) in a season, as well as most wins for a team and a first-year head coach (14), and the highest national ranking in program history with the No. 8 spot in the final Nike/Inside La-crosse Media Poll. The team also broke Patriot League Tour-nament records for most team assists in a

game (11), most two-game team points (45), total shots (84), man-up goals (6), and fast-est back-to-back goals with five seconds in the championship game. Murphy was selected as an assistant coach for the North Team in the USILA/Lax World Division I-II North-South Se-nior All-Star Game. Murphy joined the Raiders after serving as an assistant coach at Army. In his seven seasons with the Black Knights, Army was consistently ranked among the best defensive teams both in the Patriot League and national-ly under his mentorship, during which he also guided some of the most prolific goalkeepers in Academy history. Murphy joined Army after spending two seasons at Division III Denison in Granville, Ohio, where he was in charge of the Big Red’s defensive unit, goalies and faceoff personnel. He also served as an assistant on Denison’s football coaching staff and held a position in the Department of Athletics, Physical Educa-tion and Recreation as an instructor. Prior to his work at Denison, the Univer-sity of New Hampshire graduate served as

head assistant coach/defensive coordinator at Wingate from 1999-2001. The Beverly, Mass., native helped the Bulldogs to their first NCAA Division II National Semifinal appearance in school history as the squad posted a 27-17 record in Murphy’s three seasons on its side-line, while 14 players garnered All-Deep South honors. His 2001 defensive unit finished the season among the national leaders in scoring defense (12th), winning percentage (7th) and goals-against average (10th). Murphy also enjoyed one-year stints at Pfei-ffer and Merrimack after his graduation from the University of New Hampshire in the spring of 1996, where he was a three-year letterman for the Wildcats. Murphy is a member of the USILA Division I All-American Committee as well as the USILA Division I Poll Committee. He serves as chair of the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Coach-es Committee, and also serves on the IMLCA Division I Coaches Advisory Board. Murphy and his wife, Jennifer, are the proud parents of two children: son, Colin; and daughter, Dylan Emma.

Colgate 2 0 3 4 -- 9Bryant 1 1 2 1 -- 5

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Balanced scoring and a whole-field defensive effort lifted Colgate to an impressive 9-5 win at No. 14 Bryant. It was Colgate’s first road win over a ranked opponent since the 2012 Raiders toppled No. 1 Massachusetts in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The Raiders bolted from a 2-2 halftime deadlock by scor-ing three times in the third quarter and four in the fourth. Jack Stebbins and Peter Donato scored twice and five other Raiders found the netting as Colgate toppled Bryant for the fourth straight year in a season-opener. Bryant entered the game as the nation’s No. 14 team ac-cording to the lacrosse media, and No. 19 by USILA. Colgate was a No. 25 preseason selection by Inside Lacossse Maga-zine. The Raiders won by limited the Bulldogs to just eight clears in 14 attempts, and forcing 21 turnovers. Colgate held a 33-27 shot advantage. The Raiders never trailed in this one, but it was tight throughout. The game was tied 2-2 at intermission, and Col-gate led just 5-4 going to the fourth quarter. That’s when the Raiders exploded for four consecutive goals to put the contest away. Sophomore Donato scored the first two goals of his col-legiate career, and Stebbins had his first two-goal game. First-year Raiders Wittich and Abbadessa also scored their first career goals. Donato (midfield) and Abbadessa (attack) drew the first starting assignments of their Colgate careers, with Ab-badessa obviously making the start in his collegiate debut.

COLGATE 10Vermont 8Feb. 14 -- Virtue Field, Burlington, Vt.

Colgate 1 4 4 1 -- 10Vermont 4 0 3 1 -- 8

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- A six-goal flurry between the second and third quarters helped Colgate post a 10-8 win over Ver-mont. The Raiders trailed 4-1 after the first period before Ryan Walsh found the net for his second goal of the season. That seemed to spark the visitors, who scored four unanswered goals in the quarter for a 5-4 halftime advantage. Colgate continued its momentum to open the third quarter as Chase Wittich scored his second of the day and Anthony Abbadessa made it a hat trick for a 7-4 margin. Ver-mont drew within one goal but then Colgate’s Matt Clark-son and Tyler Rigo tallied and the Raiders led 9-7 entering the fourth. Cameron Williams scored near the midway point of the final period and Colgate held on for its second straight win to open the season. Abbadessa added two assists to his first collegiate hat trick for a five-point game. Clarkson did him one better with a goal and five assists for a career-high six points, while Wil-liams and Wittich scored two goals apiece. Colgate forced 10 Vermont turnovers in the middle two periods when the Raiders were turning a 4-1 deficit into a 9-7 lead. Shots favored Vermont, 37-33, as did ground balls by a 29-27 count. Colgate scored five extra-man goals to Vermont’s one. The Raiders were credited with a 14-of-16 scorecard on clears, while Vermont finished 13-of-17

COLGATE 12Lafayette 10Feb. 21 -- Tyler’s Field, Hamilton

Lafayette 1 1 5 3 -- 10Colgate 7 1 3 1 -- 12

HAMILTON -- Quick-start Colgate jumped on Lafayette for seven goals in the first quarter en route to a 12-10 Patriot League home win. Ryan Walsh completed a hat trick in the opening 15 min-utes as Colgate led 7-1. The 20th-ranked Raiders made it 8-1 on Tyler Rigo’s goal midway in the second quarter, and still led 8-2 at intermission. But a steady snowfall seemed to cool the Raider jets, and Lafayette rallied with a strong second half. Walsh finished with four goals and two assists, while An-thony Abbadessa added two goals and Matt Clarkson three assists. Six other Raiders contributed single goals. Colgate turned the tables on its recent faceoff troubles by winning 17 of 25 draws. Peter Marchetto was a sparkling 15-of-19 -- including a key grab when the Raiders were a man down in the third quarter that he turned into his first career goal to make it 9-4.

COLGATE 10Bucknell 8Feb. 28 -- Mathewson Stad., Lewisburg, Pa.

Colgate 4 2 2 2 -- 10Bucknell 3 2 2 1 -- 8

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Jake Danehy did his job in relief and boosted the 20th-ranked Raiders to a 10-8 Patriot League win over Bucknell here Saturday. Danehy picked up his first career goalkeeping victory after taking over for starter Brandon Burke, who injured himself late in the first quarter. Danehy finished with seven saves, including six in the pivotal second half. Colgate is 4-0 for the first time since the 1993 Raiders opened with five straight wins. The Raiders also are the only 2-0 team in the Patriot League. Ryan Walsh led a balanced Colgate attack with two goals and three assists. Anthony Abbadessa, Kevin Adams and Cameron Williams also scored two goals apiece in a close game throughout. Just like last week against Lafayette, the Raiders broke from the gate quickly. Colgate led 4-0 by the 8:18 mark of the first quarter as Walsh, Matt Clarkson, Abbadessa and Ad-ams found the net. But Bucknell (2-2, 1-1 Patriot) rallied with five straight goals and a 5-4 lead midway in the second quarter. The last two of those goals came against Danehy, who was seeing his first playing time of the season. But Danehy was getting his bearings and Colgate posted two huge goals before the half – Williams and Jack Stebbins doing the honors – to lead 6-5 at the break.

Colgate 2 1 1 5 -- 9Fairfield 6 4 1 2 -- 13

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Colgate’s furious fourth-quarter rally made it interesting, but Fairfield held on for a 13-9 win over the Raiders. Colgate scored five unanswered goals over a seven-plus-minute stretch of the final period to draw the Raiders within 12-9. Matt Clarkson and Chase Wittich tallied two goals each during the comeback, and Cameron Williams added the other. But the clock was winding and Fairfield settled it with a goal one minute from time. Fairfield led 10-3 at halftime after scoring six in the first quarter and four in the second. It was still 11-4 heading to the fourth in favor of the Stags, who entered Saturday with all four of its losses by one goal. Matt Clarkson’s four-point game led the Raiders offen-sively. Chase Wittich posted the second two-goal game of his young career. Matt Yeager caused a career-high three turnovers. That number matches the Connor Murphy total of last week (also a career-high) for best on the team this season.

Colgate 1 3 2 3 0 -- 9Cornell 4 2 2 1 1 -- 10

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Colgate came from four goals back in the second half and took a late lead against seventh-ranked Cornell, only to see the Big Red score at the end of regula-tion and in overtime for a 10-9 victory. A Fox Sports 1 nationally televised audience watched the Raiders score five straight goals over a nearly 15-minute stretch between the third and fourth quarters. Colgate had gone from 8-4 down to 9-8 in front with 3½ minutes to play. Cameron Williams, Tyler Rigo and Chase Wittich did the damage during Colgate’s rally. Williams and Rigo scored two apiece, and Wittich tallied the other while assisting on the first three. Wittich tied the game solo style with 4:36 left be-fore Williams scored unassisted with 3:34 remaining. But Cornell’s Dan Lintner scored his fourth of the game with 1:03 showing in regulation, and Matt Donovan scored his fourth with 1:04 left in overtime to cap the late Big Red reversal. Colgate lost its third straight game and falls to 4-3. The Raiders just missed knocking off their first top-10 opponent since defeating No. 1 Massachusetts in the 2012 NCAAs. Brandon Burke was the star of the game in goal. The Col-gate sophomore posted a career-high 16 saves, including nine in the second half as the Raiders were making their comeback. Wittich finished with two goals and three assists to lead the Raider offense. The five points and three assists were season-highs for the first-year Raider attackman.

Navy 1 3 1 2 -- 7Colgate 1 1 1 3 -- 6

HAMILTON -- Colgate’s second fourth-quarter rally of the week ended just like the first one, with a tough one-goal defeat. Navy held on for a 7-6 Patriot League decision. The Raiders scored three times in the last 4½ minutes, including twice with a man-up around the 1-minute mark, but couldn’t find the equalizer. Colgate had possession for the entire time thanks to some timely faceoff wins, but the Raiders failed to complete the rally. Navy scored four straight goals over the second and third quarters to take a 5-2 lead. After Colgate got one back, the Midshipmen seemingly put the game out of reach with a pair of goals to start the fourth that made it 7-3. But Colgate’s rally began when Anthony Abbadessa scored unassisted with 4:30 remaining to close the lead to 7-4. Then after a Navy body-check penalty for 1 minute that was not releasable, Colgate scored twice. Cameron Williams tallied with a 1:04 showing, and then Ryan Walsh followed nine seconds later. Strecker Backe stepped into the faceoff-X and won a pair of huge possessions, but the Raiders couldn’t find the mark against Navy goalkeeper John Connors. Walsh scored two goals and added an assist for Colgate, while Tyler Rigo and Peter Donato also scored goals. First-place Navy was led by Jack Ray’s hat trick. Williams and Abbadessa continued their streaks of scor-ing at least one goal in all eight games this season. Matt Clarkson contributed his team-leading 17th assist. He also led the Raiders with a career-high five ground balls. Backe, Leo Stouros and Chandler Millstone picked up three ground balls apiece, and Stouros caused a career-high three turnovers.

2015 SEASON REVIEW

COLGATE 11Loyola 4March 28 -- Ridley Ath. Complex, Baltimore

Colgate 4 2 5 0 -- 11Loyola 1 1 2 0 -- 4

BALTIMORE -- Colgate picked the perfect place at the perfect time to break out of its midseason lull. The Raiders scored the game’s first four goals and never looked back, rolling to an 11-4 win over No. 15/16 Loyola. The victory was showcased in front of a crowd of 1,276 in the lacrosse capital city and a CBS Sports nationally tele-vised audience. Colgate also said a satisfying goodbye to its four-game losing streak. Cameron Williams posted the first hat trick of his career and went one better, scoring four times and assisting on an-other. He sparked a 12-point game for the starting Raider midfield of Williams, Peter Donato and Matt Clarkson. Donato and Clarkson both contributed a goal and two assists. Chase Wittich scored two goals in a homecoming for the native of nearby Stevenson, Maryland, while Anthony Abbadessa, Ryan Walsh and Tyler Rigo added single goals. Williams and Abbadessa continued their streaks of scor-ing at least one goal in every game this season. The Colgate defense held Loyola to its lowest goal-out-put of the year by half. The Greyhounds had scored no fewer than eight goals in two games – an 8-6 win over Penn State and a 14-8 loss at Duke – and were averaging more than 13 goals per game. It was the lowest goal-total allowed by the Raiders since a 7-4 win over Bryant to start the 2014 season. Brandon Burke backed up the defensive effort with 12 saves, the second-best total of his career. He had 16 earlier this season in an overtime loss at top-10 Cornell.

COLGATE 12Lehigh 8April 4 -- Andy Kerr Stadium, Hamilton

Lehigh 2 1 2 3 -- 8Colgate 4 5 0 3 -- 12

HAMILTON -- Colgate capped a near-flawless first half with a two-goal burst right before intermission, and then held off Lehigh to post a 12-8 Patriot League victory. The Raiders rallied from an early 2-0 hole to score nine of the next 10 goals and lead 9-3 at the break. The final two of that flurry came in the last 10 seconds of the half off the sticks of first-year attackmen Anthony Abbadessa and Chase Wittich. Abbadessa scored unassisted with 9.9 seconds left in the second quarter. Then Colgate’s Strecker Backe won the faceoff and Abbadessa scooped up the ground ball. He quickly found Wittich in front of the goal, and the Maryland native turned and scored just as the horn was sounding. The Raiders bounced their way to the locker room with a six-goal advantage, matching their largest halftime cushion of the season. Lehigh made things interesting and then some in the second half, rallying with five straight goals to pull within 9-8 early in the fourth. But Abbadessa scored unassisted once again with 8:30 to play, and Cameron Williams fol-lowed 3½ minutes later for some real breathing room. Matt Clarkson’s goal with a minute remaining capped the scoring.

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Ryan Walsh scored with 43 seconds remaining to complete a hat trick and a furious Colgate rally in the 14-13 triumph over Holy Cross. First-year attackman Anthony Abbadessa added season-highs of four goals and six points, and Colgate needed every one to overcome a Holy Cross squad determined to advance to the Patriot League tournament for the first time. Colgate with its third straight win punched a ticket to the postseason, improving to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in conference. Colgate twice trailed by four goals in the first half and never led until midway in the fourth quarter. Abbadessa scored his fourth of the game on a man-up chance to tie it at 13-13 with 2:10 to play. And then Walsh side-armed one past the Crusaders keeper for the game-winner just 43 seconds from the finish. Colgate finished 3-of-3 on man-up chances and blanked Holy Cross on its only two extra-man opportunities.

2015 SEASON REVIEW

COLGATE 8Army 5April 17 -- Michie Stadium, West Point, N.Y.

Colgate 1 3 1 3 -- 8Army 0 0 2 3 -- 5

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- Colgate didn’t quite get the Friday night trifecta it needed, but the Raiders did their part and picked up a pretty nice consolation prize. A Patriot League regular season championship. Colgate climbed into a first-place tie with Navy thanks to a stifling 8-5 victory over 17th-ranked Army at historic Michie Stadium. It’s the third regular season crown in Raider Men’s Lacrosse history and second in the last four years. Ryan Walsh scored four goals and assisted on two of the three goals scored by Cameron Williams. Matt Clarkson add-ed the eighth tally as Colgate won its fourth straight game. The Raiders jumped to 8-4 overall and completed their Pa-triot League season at 6-2. The Raiders led 4-0 at intermission before Army battled back in the second half, closing to within two goals twice. The Black Knights were held to a season-low five goals – three by Connor Cook and two by Shea Mullins. Walsh scored his four goals on just five total shots, while Williams scored his three on just four shots. Both Walsh as-sists set up goals by Williams. Williams has scored at least one goal in every game this season, the only Raider with that distinction. Anthony Ab-badessa’s goal- and point-scoring streak came to an end when he just missed scoring in the closing minutes. The Walsh hat trick was his third of the year and 22nd of his career. He matched season highs of four goals and six points set in the February win over Lafayette. Matt Clarkson scored Colgate’s eighth goal from an im-possible angle. He fought off his defender, stayed out of the crease and still managed to get it past Army’s Sam Somers. The goal was Clarkson’s 12th of the year and team-lead-ing 35th point.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- No. 18 Colgate blitzed into the Patriot League Tournament championship game with a record-breaking victory here in Friday’s first semifinal. Matt Clark-son and Ryan Walsh went for seven points apiece as the Raiders set tournament marks for goals in a game and larg-est margin of victory. Friday’s victory was Colgate’s fifth straight, longest for the program since the 2012 Raiders won five in a row twice on their way to the NCAA tournament quarterfinals. Colgate improved to 3-0 all-time against Bucknell in the semifinal round, and 5-1 against the Bison in the tourna-ment altogether. The Raiders are 1-1 all-time against Army in the Patriot League Tournament, but Sunday is their first championship meeting. Clarkson tied his career-high with five goals and set a personal best with seven points. Walsh scored four goals for the second straight game – he has 11 over the last three – and matched his career-high with seven points.

COLGATE 11Army 8April 26 -- Navy-MC Stad., Annapolis, Md.

Army 2 1 3 2 -- 8Colgate 2 3 4 2 -- 11

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- From 4-4 to a Patriot League title! No. 18 Colgate streaked its way to the conference title, defeating Army 11-8 for the second tournament champion-ship in program history. The Raiders won their sixth straight game and now have a May date with the NCAAs. Colgate began the season with four straight wins and then four straight losses. But four more in the win-column – over Loyola, Lehigh, Holy Cross and Army – led to a share of the Patriot League regular season title. And then two con-vincing wins handed Colgate double crowns. Colgate placed four on the 11-man all-tournament team. Walsh was named the Most Outstanding Player after scoring six goals and contributing five assists in the two games. Other Raiders named were Clarkson (6 goals, 2 as-sists), Williams (4 goals) and Burke (18 saves, 2 wins).
