Col. James R. Blackburn, Jr. 75 th Colonel, 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment Rose Barracks, Vilseck, Germany Colonel Blackburn, I just wanted to welcome you back and to let you know that you, your staff, and the troopers of 2SCR, have made a lot of old veterans swell with pride to the point of bursting our buttons. Under your command our time-honored Cavalry traditions have been revived, another honorable chapter in our long and glorious history has been written, and the 2d Stryker Cavalry Regiment continues to lead the rest of the Army by example. As your time with 2SCR draws near its end, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you the best for a long and very successful career, and hope that in years to come you look back on your time commanding 2SCR with much fondness and a sense of great accomplishment. Always Ready, sir! Dave Gettman 2d Cavalry Association Webmaster/Editor-in-Chief
