What Does a Coffee News® Publisher Do?
As a Coffee News® Publisher and advertising consultant, your
primary role is to sell advertising to small and medium-sized businesses around town. The
content in the middle section of Coffee News® is provided to you (with the exception of the local
“What’s Happening” section). Coffee News® Printing will prepare the layout, design the ads, print
and ship the publication in time for you to deliver to the establishments you have initially
secured each week. In addition, you’ll want to be an active networker in your community
through organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, BNI, etc. Following up with
your existing clients every couple of weeks will maintain that strong relationship to ensure that
long-term relationship and continued revenue for you in the years to come.

Coffee News® College is a three-day, training program conducted by our Coffee News®
staff
and training team who will educate you on every aspect of the franchise system from ad
design to distribution, printing, sales, networking, promotions, billing, collections, social
media marketing and more!
The Mentor Program provides immediate guidance from veteran Publishers in the field
during the first few months of your start-up period.
Weekly Tips, Regional Roundtables, International Conferences and other ongoing
support is provided to you from the Coffee News® Head Office. We are available to help
you everyday.

What are the costs?
Weekly Costs:
Printing
A total of 2000 copies printed and delivered each week per edition is recommended.
Printing costs typically range around $.08-$.10 per copy (shipping included) through Coffee News® Printing.
Ad Design and Layout
You may choose to design your own ads, or use Coffee News® Printing. Coffee News® Printing will provide you with two spec ads for $12.50. Charging a one-time ad production fee to the advertiser will offset these costs.
Delivery It is recommended that you do your own deliveries in the beginning to save money
and build rapport with the local restaurant owners/managers and other distribution locations. Over time, you may employ delivery staff at $1.00-$1.25 per stop.
Weekly Fees Our flat weekly franchise fee structure provides you with the content and
ongoing support each week. The weekly fees are $80 (USD) per week on your first franchise and $40 (USD) per week on each additional franchise that you own. (Contact us for fee pricing outside the U.S.)

How much can I charge for an ad?
Advertising rates are determined by you, the Publisher, based on the readership of Coffee News® in your area and, to some degree, your local market.
Readership is 5-7 times the number of copies distributed. If you are distributing 2000
copies each week, the readership will be 10,000-14,000 readers per week for that edition.
Since distribution drives readership, the more locations you distribute to, the greater the
readership, and the greater the value to the advertiser. It’s only natural that your ad rate
would reflect this. The following table may assist you in determining an appropriate ad
rate, based upon the number of distribution locations:
