Introduction to Coffee Films
Coffee films is an independent film production company
In 1996 they were established as a short film collective who played with camcorders, however in 2003 they incorporated and became recognised as Europe’s leading young production companies within a year.
They progressed onto documentaries on music and wildlife, they then gained a critical acclaim for a film called “Last of the Scottish Wildcats” as they were one of the second companies to be able to film one of Britain’s rarest mammals.
They produce films from documentaries to music to psychological thrillers.
History
Coffee films had started in 1996 as underground producers who were a collective set of friends, artists and even musicians who all lived around Kent.
They worked with a variety of cheap S-VHS & Hi-8 camcorders and edited tape to tape.
The group had produced a range of experimental films and videos on zero budget.
Just over 15 years later, Coffee Films has become a well established British Independent Film production company which has been able to screen worldwide.
They have won critical acclaim and have even been able to reach into a 7figure budget for filmmaking.
