1. It is important for a TV listings article to have a date and the time it will be shown to inform the audience of the programme showing.2. Byline is not always shown on double page articles, however if there is a image which has been taken then the photographers name will be placed on the image to tell the reader who had taken it. 3. The page number is always at the bottom of a double age spread to make it easier for the audience to navigate around the magazine.

4. The main image establishes to the reader who is featured in the article and also attracts the readers attention quickly.

5. This gives a brief outline of the article and sometimes summarises the actors/ actresses involved in previous roles.

1. Bylines are used in double page articles, where an image has been used the photographer’s name will be placed on the image to show to the reader who has taken it, however this is not always the case for all double page articles.2. Minor images often add more interest to the double page article and also show the reader a few captions of scenes of the main actors/ actresses to attract them.

3. It is important for a TV listings article to have a date and the time it will be shown to inform the audience of the programme showing. It’s usually fairly small, but is always at the beginning of the article.

4. The main image establishes to the reader who is featured in the article and also attracts the readers attention quickly.5. A pull quote if often used to emphasise a main line that has importance behind it. Also used to attract the readers attention by making it interesting.

6. The page number is always at the bottom of a double age spread to make it easier for the audience to navigate around the magazine.

1. Title - big, bold white lettering (blueish tint). The white contrasts against the dark background and make it easy to read.

2. Yellow boxes are a common convention in a lot of TV listings magazine (especially this brand). It could be used as a reminder of what you are reading, a contrast to darker images and also to fit the layout that is persistent throughout the whole of the magazine.

3. Main image – covers both pages, the character isreaching out towards the audience. Direct mode of address and the use of the actor reaching out towards us implies a metaphorical and literal capturing of the reader’s attention. The layer is evenbrought forward in front of one of the boxes, which makes the reaching out seem even more realistic.4. There is a byline in the white box, just below theimage which usually contains the photographer’sname, and brief information about them – like howto contact them (e.g. email.)

The convention of a bold, white font is evident again. It’s clearly a common convention in a TV listings magazine. It’s also against a darkbackground, making a real contrast between thetwo. This ensures it’s easy to read. Black is thedarkest and most opposite colour to white,therefore makes it stand out against it the most. It’s eye catching, and also matches the design of Elvis Presley’s midshot – black and white.

Columns are the common organised layout of a listings magazine, it’s organised and easy to readthroughout.

Main image – direct mode of address forms a personal relationship between the reader and the person the documentary is about. It’s like anunspoken invitation for the reader to come and take a look at their lives and watch what they have to say.Pull quotes are quotes that are pulled straight out of the interview,

they’re usually big and bold for the reader to see before they readthe interview – that way it makes them want to read more about it.
