Internal Temperature

Ambient Temperature

Reduce Cost & Ensure the Consumer Enjoyment factor

- How can we prove that our coolers operate within a limited band of ambient temperature?

- How can we ensure that our consumers always have the opportunity to consume a cold product?

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Lots of times we will get calls from our customers saying our beverages are not chilled to optimal temperature. What if we had a device in our cooler that could predict when this condition will happen and dispatch a technician before it is too late? And why would we care about ambient temperature? Our coolers are manufactured to allow for a wide range of ambient temperature. If we can show that our machines only operate within a limited band of ambient temperature, the cost of manufacturing these half a million coolers will go down.

Equipment Repair & Maintenance Costs Are High

Estimated $65 per visit

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Even though we’ve got outstanding equipment, every now and then it still breaks down. Wouldn’t it be nice to know if the machine was having some kind of issue?

Introducing the Smart Cooler!

*Prototype

Presenter
Presentation Notes
This is the Smart cooler prototype. Production runs of the Smart Cooler will most likely be an epoxy coated circuit board that will be installed during the manufacturing process and/or installed during a retrofit process.

Introducing the Smart Cooler! The cooler telemetry device is a low cost solution that is placed inside of the cooler and will send data about the cooler to CCE through a cellular network.

Data Collected Cooler temperature Ambient temperature Current load of the compressor Compressor runtime GPS coordinates Machine tilt or movement EMS device telemetry Door openings Power state Battery state

Presenter
Presentation Notes
Here you see some of the data we collect from our units in the field. Currently we’re still in the prototype phase and we have 12 units deployed in the field.

Smart Cooler Savings

At $65 per visit, saving one service call can pay for the Smart Cooler device

$210K per year could be saved by just replacing filters when needed

API Cluster API Cluster

The Gateway cluster is responsible for all document retrieval and processing. These servers also direct how documents get processed from start to finish.

The Mapping cluster is responsible for translation of documents into different formats depending on the interface.

The SAP cluster is responsible for IDoc traffic going to/from SAP leveraging ALE connections.

The API cluster is the only 3 node cluster responsible for handling all API/webService calls both inbound and outbound.

API Management Network Architecture

Presenter
Presentation Notes
So from an architecture perspective, we still follow our Enterprise Framework. The smart cooler device contacts the Aeronix servers via 2G cellular service. The Aeronix servers make a SOAP call, which we’ll be switching to a REST call for production, thru our API gateway at Mashery and into our Web Services cluster. From there a document is sent via Broker to our Gateway cluster. At that point a document is sent to TN that logs the initial SOAP call parameters. This document is passed over to our Mapping cluster which saves the values sent out to a master data table. It then does some calculations to determine if any alerts are needed due to excessive temperature or cooler has been unplugged or various other alert conditions. If an alert is needed then that document gets sent back to TN and the alert email is sent. At the bottom of the screen you can see MashZone which we’re using as our user interface and dashboarding tool.
