We encourage parents and carers to share positive information from these reports with children to celebrate their successes. Likewise, it is a good opportunity for students to identify and set some achievable goals to work towards for next semester. Principal’s Report

As we see week 9 come to an end, we will also see the

distribution of school reports. As usual, reports will go home with each student. Please take the time to read the information

on the front of the report to understand the grading and effort

scale. While teachers work incredibly hard to analyse data and

provide meaningful feedback for families, they do not get the chance to talk to each student about their report and help

students to see all the areas in which they are proud of them.

We encourage parents and carers to share positive information

from these reports with children to celebrate their successes. Likewise, it is a good opportunity for students to identify and

set some achievable goals to work towards for next semester.

Teachers have had a great response to our notes home for

parent/teacher interviews. These will be taking place on

Tuesday 3rd July. It is always lovely to meet parents and have a

chance to talk, even though the allocated time for the meeting always flies by.

There have been instances of members in the community having near misses with our students on the road. We are

continually reminding students about road safety but it seems,

at times, that message isn’t getting across. Please talk with your

child about road safety, how to cross safely, safety features such as proper helmet adjustment, riding safely and the best

routes to take to get home. Having this conversation to reiterate

the importance of being safe while out and about could make

all the difference. www.safetytown.com.au has some great information for parents to assist with these regular

Who Got

Spotted

this week?

Ernie spotted Koby helping Mrs

Whiteman in the library when his class

came to library. He saw there were

chairs that had not been taken down

and took them down without being

asked. Koby has also been giving it his

all with the STEAM activities this

term.

Keep it up Koby.

Sophie-Anne Chandler

Ernie heard music at lunch time

and popped his head into the music

room and saw Sophie-Anne performing in

the Aboriginal Dance Group. Ernie was

really impressed that Sophie-Anne was

helping others in the group with dance

routines as well as learning too. Great

work Sophie-Anne for being a leader and

learner!

Well done, Sophie-Anne

Learne

r

Ellah Hogan

Ernie snuck into 5/6M's classroom

during the week and observed

Ellah was playing a maths game

respectfully with her peers. She

consistently does as she is asked

and uses a polite voice.

Great job Ellah!

Congratulations

The Voluntary School Contributions for 2018 have remained the same as last year.

$25.00 for one student or $40.00 for a family.

As in previous years, funds raised will be accumulated over the next twelve months. Cobar Public School P & C will then determine

what major capital works project will be supported by these funds.

If electing to contribute, please complete the slip below and return with funds to the Admin. Office. Thank you to those parents and

carers who have already elected to contribute for the benefit of our students. Your support is appreciated.

Parents can also pay through Flexischools.

PBL Shining Day At the end of each term we hold a celebration for all students who have

received 10 merit awards throughout the term. Students are able to

receive a merit award by collecting 10 Good eggs and from a variety of

other activities within the classroom. Students are required to present

their 10 merit awards to their classroom teacher at the end of the term

in order to attend Shining day. The merit awards from the students must

be presented in a Merit award book (which is available from the front

office for the cost of $5) in order to be processed and receive an award

at our fortnightly assembly.
