ZOE CRAIGZoe is the bands lead singer. She sang formally in school choruses for 8 years, but began singing truthfully before she could talk. Her parents it on tape. She has been classically trained under the direction of Cindy Forbes, LouAnn Meade, and several other guest choral directors. Zoe is also self-taught on the acoustic guitar and piano.

Musically, Zoe is influenced by the words of Bob Dylan, Harry Chapin, and JIm Croce and the voices of Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, andChristina Aguilera. Zoe is a Virginia Beach native and has performed in various venues in Hampton Roads including Harbor Park, Lynnhaven and Pembroke Malls, and the Dominion Towers in Norfolk. She has also been highlighted in commercials on WAVY TV 10 during the holiday season. Zoe is currently a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School, Class of 2011. Throughout the last few years, Zoe has been awarded 3 outstanding soloist trophies in national competitions, Most Outstanding Sophomore in chorus, Cox Idol’s first place and third place, and in 2011 she was acknowledged as the highest scoring Alto 1 in the second district of Virginia including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and the Eastern Shore. She works 2 part-time jobs in addition to working with the band.

Coastland is a band from Virginia Beach, Virginia that plays a mixture of music including classic and modern rock, contemporary country, and good old blues jams. The energy and feeling in Coastland’s music is a huge aspect of their live performances.The band members have years of experience playing all types of venues including Festivals, Charity Events, Clubs/Restaurants, and Private Parties. The wide variety of music, as well as the high quality musicianship and three-part harmonies that Coastland offers will appeal to any audience.

LEAD VOCALS/ GUITAR/ KEYS

HOLLY TACHEHolly is Coastland’s lead guitarist. She has been playing guitar since the age of eight, and preforming live as a part of various musical projects for about five years. Not only does she play guitar, but also drums, bass, piano, ukulele, and sings. Her influences include Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Tom Petty, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Foo Fighters, and Boston; just to name a few. She is also influenced by local musicians Lewis McGehee, Henry Johnson, and Jay Rakes, all of whom she has taken guitar lessons from.

Holly has had the privilege of preforming at some of the most notable venues on the East Coast. In 2009, as a member of the Youth Arts Forum, Holly was invited to perform in New York City at The 13th Street Theater. Just a few months later, Coastland was asked to preform at The Studio at Webster Hall and be a part of the benefit show “Kids Helping Kids,” benefiting homeless children in New York City. Holly has also played at various stages at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, and has had the pleasure of opening for country star Miranda Lambert in 2009 as well as Craig Morgan in 2010. She has also performed at The San-dler Center, Farm Beurau Live, and The Jewish Mother.

Holly is a senior enrolled in the Landstown High School Technology Academy where she plays varsity field hockey. In addition to her musical accomplishments, Holly is a youth field hockey coach and enjoys working with web/graphic design, and spending time with friends.

TYLER CASEYTyler first picked up a guitar when he was 13 and since then has expanded his musical abilities by beginning to play the keyboard, bass guitar, and sing lead and background vocals. He has had the privilege of being instructed by Hamp-ton Roads’ own Jay Rakes.

Tyler was a student at The Academy of Rock Music for 2 years, under Vasi-li Simmons, where he was lead singer, played, lead and rhythm guitar and keyboard for the band Jungle Riot at numerous venues such as: The Jewish Mother,17th Street Stage, Bay Haven Grill, Hell’s Kitchen, Baja Restaurant, Scotty Quixx, Schooner’s Grill, Cinema Café, and The Boot. As a member of Coastland he has performed at Webster Hall, in New York City, and has opened for national act Craig Morgan. He has also performed at The Sandler Center for “Teenapalooza”, as well as many annual festivals held at numerous locations all across Hampton Roads. Tyler has also supported local charities by playing at the 1st and 2nd Annual “Live by Example 5K Run” of the VA Beach Association of Rescue Squad Volunteers (VBARSV), and he preformed at the “Rock Out To Stop Hunger” fundraiser.

Tyler is a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School, Class of 2011, where he played on the varsity and club volleyball team for four years. He enjoys being with his friends and loves his family. He likes to surf, play guitar, play volleyball, basketball, and also enjoys going to the beach as well as chilling with friends and having a good time.

ALEX KEHAYASAlex has added bass guitar to his repertoire in recent years. Largely self taught Alex enjoys the ability to help provide the percussion backbone that provides the foundation that music is built upon. Alex has taken guitar lessons for 5 years at Alpha Music from the late Scott Bailey and currently from Bernie Lee of the Jesse Chong Band. Alex has also participated in the School of Rock summer program at Norfolk Academy directed by Steve Archer of the Blue Lords for the past 4 years.

Musically speaking Alex is an “old soul” enjoying the sounds of classic rock bands including Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, The Beatles, Rolling Stones and many of the older R & B and Funk bands. He not only hammers down the bass line, but he follows a vision of not what a song is, but of what it can be. Alex is also an accomplished guitarist.

Alex has performed with local artists Rendition as well as artists on the Outer Banks. He has long term mu-sical goals not limited to performance but of perhaps becoming a luthier to impart his vision of what guitars should be.

Alex is a sophomore enrolled in the Global Studies Academy at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach and the Governor’s School for the Arts at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA.

TYLER CONNELLYTyler has played drums for more than thirteen years. At age 5, he began his instruction from the renowned drumming powerhouse Powell Randolph, and in later years, the dynamic Andrew Payne (and Tyler continues to take instruction). In addition to Powell and Andy, Tyler has also been instructed by Kevin Hall and has attended seminars from Hampton Road’s own Jae Sinnett. Tyler also plays guitar and has had the privilege of being instructed by Jay Rakes.

He participated in the Academy of Rock Music under Vasili Simmons, where he was a member of the band ‘Jungle Riot’. They played at 17th Street Stage in Virginia Beach and other iconic hot spots such as The Jewish Mother, Baja Grill, Schooner’s, Bay Haven Grille, Hell’s Kitchen, The Boot, and Scoty Quixx. Tyler was also a member of the band ‘Electric Current’, performing at the 1st Annual “Live by Example” 5K Run of the Virginia Beach Association of Rescue Squad Volunteers and for the 2009 Hampton Roads Tea Party at Chesapeake City Park. In summer 2009, he joined The Bria Kelly Band, where they performed for the Isle of Wight County Fair, Virginia State Fair, and the Suf-folk Peanut Festival.

Tyler is a Virginia Beach native and a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School, Class of 2011. He loves his family and friends and enjoys playing with the two family boxers, Joe and Toby. His favorite sports are surfing, skateboarding and wakeboarding.
