If the total GDP growth rate is 7% or more, then 26 TCFadditional gas will be required which is calorific equivalent to1000 million tons of coal.

 There will be a decline of gas production after 2011 anddemand of energy will be increasing 

Coal may be the alternate source of energy in Bangladesh

Present installed capacity for power generation is ~5275 MW; 43% population has access to electricity. Percapita generation only 165 KWh per anum

 There is a huge shortage of supply
