A joyful Mexican tradition, the Day of

the Dead (El Da de los Muertos) is a

special occasion for Mexican families and

the community to honor our deceased

loved ones. Our day-long festivity begins

with the construction of two ofrendas

(altars). As participants arrive, they can

help decorate our altar by bringing in

photos of deceased loved ones, objects that

remind you of them or a favorite drink or

food. A family from the community willcreate an ofrenda displaying the regional

traditions of the state in Mexico. Tamara

Geisler & Irma will teach how to make

    skeleton puppets, papel picado (colorful

    decoration), and marigold flowers (10

am). Mariachi & Son Jarocho will play

traditional music. Los Chinelos and other

    groups will perform.
