Career Highlights In his second tour of duty at Clemson, he served as defensive secondary coach under Tommy West from 1995-97. So this is his fourth year overall in Tigertown. During that 1995-97 era he helped the Tigers to three bowl games, the 1996 Gator, 1996 Peach and 1998 Peach. Coached some great players in the 1990s at Clemson, including seven-me Pro Bowl selecon Brian Dawkins, among the best players in history of the Philadelphia Eagles. Dawkins made third team All-American and led the ACC in intercepons his first year. Also coached future Super Bowl Champion Dexter McCleon and Washington Redskins safety Leomont Evans. Ant- wan Edwards went on to be a first-round draſt pick aſter three years under Harbison. Harbison comes to Clemson from Mississippi State where he was defensive coordinator and safees coach. Helped Mis- sissippi State to the Liberty Bowl in 2007. The Bulldogs ranked seventh in the naon in pass dfense and 20th in pass efficiency defense that year. Has had two tours of duty at Alabama, 2003-06 and 1998- 2000. Helped Alabama to five bowl games in seven years overall, including the 1999 season when the Crimson Tide won the SEC tle and played Michigan in the Orange Bowl. Now the offensive coordinator, he moved into that posion at age 29 and will be 30 when he is calling plays in the opening game against Middle Tennessee on September 5. Youngest coordinator in Clemson history and one of the youngest in the naon. Joined Clemson offensive staff as ght ends coach in 2006 and the Tigers led the ACC in total offense, rushing offense and scoring offense. In fact, Clemson ranked fifth in the nation in rushing that year. His ght ends were successful, including Thomas Hunter, who had 16 catches for 305 yards. Has been ranked among the top 25 recruiters in the naon by Rivals.com two of the last three years, including 2008 when Clemson ranked second in the naon in recruing by ESPN.com. Napier was Clemson’s recruing coordinator the last three years, but has willed that posion for 2009 to Jeff Sco. Served as an assistant coach at South Carolina State in 2005 and helped that program to 9-2 seasons, including 7-1 in the league. S.C. State was 12th in the naon in rushing (236 yards per game) and 15th in the naon in passing efficiency, to go with 17th in scoring at 34.4 points per game. Helped the Bulldogs to the fourth-best turnover margin in the country, as the team commied just 11 turnovers in 2005 aſter losing 33 turnovers in 2004. Napier was elevated to the offensive coordinator posion aſter the 2005 season, but never coached in that role due to his hiring at Clemson. Graduate assistant at Clemson during nine-win season of 2003 and during the 2004 season. Leered four mes (1999-02) at Furman and was a two-me captain as a quarterback. He holds the Furman career record for compleon percentage (64.8) and is third in passing yard- age (4,247).
