co2 concentration in 2013
TRANSCRIPT
Analysis of the observations of CO2 concentrations in the ambient air at the
Peterhof station
Stefani Foka Dept. of Atmospheric Physics, SPbU
In 2000 the growth rate of CO2 achieved 1.7% per year (or 2.2 ppm/per year).
CO2 growth rate in the atmosphere
In the 19th century CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere started to increase.
Global Greenhouse Gas Reference Network
Outline
-to estimate temporal variations of CO2 concentration observed at the Peterhof station in 2013;
-to compare our results with independent measurements and modeling results;
- to analyze reasons which could be responsible for the variations of CO2 concentration.
Location of the measurement site
Location: 59.88°N, 29.83°E, 20m asl.Peterhof is the suburb of Saint-Petersburg (~35 km westward from the city center).
Gas analyzer for CO2 monitoring
LGR greenhouse gas analyzer (CO2, CH4, H2O): off-axis integrated cavity output spectroscopy technique LGR performs measurements every 20 seconds.
Measurement error: 100 ppb

Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory —(HYSPLIT) Model
The HYSPLIT model is a complete system for computing simple air parcel trajectories to complex dispersion and deposition simulations. The intial development was a result of a joint effort between NOAA and Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
