One Teach, One Observe

• Before: In this video clip, Mrs. Bavonese and Mrs. Clonts demonstrate how to use the one teach, one observe strategy to develop observation points during a lesson on comprehension for curriculum and instruction majors at Jacksonville State University. It is important in this strategy to develop well-defined actions to be observed. There should be no more than 2 items for which observations are being made.

• After: Mrs. Bavonese and Mrs. Clonts discuss what Mrs. Clonts observed during the lesson. This should occur immediately following the lesson or as soon as possible after the lesson to be the most effective.
