The Co -operative A cademy of P rofessional E ducation (CA PE) i s a n a utonomous society re gistered i n 1999 unde r t he Travancore-Cochin L iterary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act, 1955 on t he basis of t he Memorandum of A ssociation and the Rules approved by the Government of Kerala and promoted by the Co-operation Department, Government of K erala. The C o-operative Academy of P rofessional Education (CAPE) i s ai ming t o establish Educational I nstitutions i n various professional fields to provide facilities and promote Education and Training, Research and Development. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala is the Ex-Officio Chairman of t he S ociety. The H on'ble M inister for Co -operation, is t he Ex -Officio Vice Chairman and the Chairman of the Board of Governors, The Director of the Academy is the Member Secretary of the society.

3. PROSPECTUS

CAPE Prospectus 2021 -22 sets out the general information and rules relating to the selection a nd a dmission unde r N RI quo ta for t he B . T ech c ourses offe red i n t he Engineering Colleges under CAPE.

3.1 The candidates seeking admission to B. Tech courses under NRI quota are advised to

go through the CAPE Prospectus 2021-22 carefully and acquaint themselves with the relevant i nformation relating t o the ad mission. Details of t he admission under N RI quota ar e also available i n the C APE w ebsite- www.capekerala.org and a lso i n the websites of the respective Engineering Colleges. The CAPE Prospectus is valid only for t he academic y ear 2021 -22. T he CA PE P rospectus 2021-22 is subject t o

modification/ addi tion/deletion, as t he cas e m ay be de emed necessary b y the Executive Committee of CAPE.

4. ADMISSION The pr ocess of adm ission to the B .Tech courses unde r N RI quot a offe red i n t he Engineering C olleges unde r C APE w ill be m ade b y t he P rincipals of conc erned Engineering colleges under the supervision of the Director, CAPE for which a merit list w ill b e pr epared and published in each Institution from a mong t he appl ications received from eligible candidates.

5. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or Examinations recognized as equi valent t hereto, w ith 45% m arks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission to B.Tech courses.

In case, the candi date ha s not s tudied C hemistry, t he m arks obt ained in Computer S cience s hall be cons idered. I n case, the candidate ha s not s tudied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be

considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and biotechnology, the m arks obt ained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown i n t he m ark l ist of t he B oard of E xamination obt ained fro m t he re spective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.

6. RELAXATION IN MARKS SC/ST candi dates ne ed only a pa ss i n the qua lifying examination for adm ission to B.Tech course.

7. OTHER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA No entrance test is required for getting admission to B.Tech course under NRI quota.

8. AGE LIMIT Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on 31.12.2019. No age relaxation

in the minimum age will be allowed.

9. APPLICATION FORM & FEE The application for admission to B.Tech courses can be submitted by way of Online through the website of respective Engineering Colleges (please see Clause 13 of the CAPE Prospectus for website address of Engineering colleges).

The application fee for B.Tech courses under NRI quota seats will be Rs.600/- which shall be remitted by Cash/ online Banking/Demand Draft drawn on State Bank of India in favour of the Principal of concerned Engineering Colleges. Separate applications with prescribed fee shall be submitted to each College if admission is sought for in more than one Engineering College.

9.1 No fee concession shall be allowed to SC/ST/SEBC/OBC/OEC candidates. Application fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances. Applications without Application fee will summarily be rejected.

9.2 RECEIPT OF APPLICATION The completed application together with application fee of Rs.600/- and all supporting documents self attested shall be submitted to the office of the Principals of concerned Engineering C olleges. 9.3 The candidates are advised to submit appl ication directly or send by Registered Post to colleges. CA PE or i ts I nstitutions c annot be he ld re sponsible fo r non -receipt or late receipt of applications, under any circumstances. (Print out of online application)

quota. 10.1. REMITTANCE OF TUITION FEE: The candidates who are selected for admission

10.2. “E.K.Nayanar Co-operative Professional Education Scholarship”- Scholarship of Rs. 15,000/- sanctioned to the students who secured 85% marks in Plus two Examination and annual income not more than Rs. 2 lakh.

11. REFUND OF FEE ON CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION

As pe r clause 12.2.4(a ) & (b) of K EAM P rospectus & Cl ause 8.13 c hapter V III of AICTE approval Process Hand Book 2021-22.

11.1 PREVENTIVE MEASURES AGAINST RAGGING According to the Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act 1998, `ragging` means doing any act by disorderly conduct to a student of an education institution, which causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm or raising apprehension or shame or embarrassment to that student and includes teasing or abusing or playing practical jokes or causing hurt to such students or a sking a student to do any act or t o perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course be willing to do.

12.1 All institutions w ill ha ve t o abide by t he di rectives of t he Hon’ble Supreme C ourt of India, da ted M ay 16, 2007 i n S LP No (S ) 24295 of 2006 U niversity of Kerala V s Council, Principals`, Colleges, Kerala & Others [with SLP © no. 24296-99/2004 & W.P (Crl) No. 173/2006 & SLP (c) No. 14356/2005] and the recommendations approved by the H on’ble S upreme Cour t of I ndia on effective pre vention of r agging i n e ducational institutions.

12.2 It shall be the collective responsibility of the authority of the institution to see to it that effective s teps f or pr eventing r agging ar e t aken. Anti-ragging com mittees and anti-ragging squad will ha ve t o be f ormed to t ake ef fective m easures against r agging and they s hould a dhere t o t he s tipulations a nd e ffectively m onitor a nd c omply with the directives.

12.3 Each of t he student and his/her parents, or g uardian are required to submit a combined undertaking at the time of registration/admission in the prescribed format available in Annexure- II

It i s the largest and the most populous ci ty corporation and the fifth largest urban agglomeration in Kerala. The C ollege of Engineering, Aranmula i s s ituated on the Kulanada- Aranmula road just 200 m from I kkara Junction, A ranmula and ha s s ufficient l ocal t ransportation facilities from a ll s urrounding pl aces.
