The CRC also accepts complaints regardingemployment, public accommodations, health andwelfare agencies, and education.

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in thesale, rental, and financing of dwellings and in otherhousing-related activities based on disability, amongother protected classes. The Fair Housing Act includespublic housing agencies, property owners, landlords,housing managers, real estate agents, brokerageservice agencies, and banks. Persons and entitiescovered by the Fair Housing Act are prohibitedfrom discriminating against applicants or residentsbecause of their disability of anyone associated withthem and from treating persons with disabilities lessfavorably than others because of their disability. In the case of persons with disabilities:Housing discrimination can be a refusal to permitreasonable modifications of existing premises and therefusal to make reasonable accommodations in rules,policies, practices, or services, when suchaccommodations may be necessary to afford suchperson equal opportunity to use and enjoy a dwelling.

WHAT IS SOURCE OF INCOME?Any lawful source of money paid directly orindirectly to, or on behalf of, a renter or buyer ofhousing including any government or privateassistance.
