Student Council’s 3K Run/Walk Event
Castle North Middle School’s Student Council needs your help! In just a few weeks, we will be having our annual 3K event. We would love to continue our tradi-tion of providing a t-shirt to every student, staff member, and volunteer. However, we are in need of more busi-nesses or families to make t-shirt donations. If your business or your family would be willing to make a donation of $300 or more, we will place your business name or family name on the back of each shirt as a way of showing our appreciation for your generosity. (In or-der for us to place your company’s or family’s name on our shirts, we will need t-shirt donations by April 1
st.)
The CNMS Student Council would like to thank those businesses and families who have already offered sup-port for the upcoming 3K event. Special thanks to Team Health at St. Mary’s, Dr. David Hazelrigg, Dr. James Gill, Swonder Ice Skating Rink, SERVUS, RC Cola, Wayback Burgers, Shah family, Just for Kids Dentistry, the Joshi family, the Spurling family, the Susec family, Francie Renschler, and the CNMS PTO. We also would like to thank Jana Ulrey of Media Mix Communications for her help and support. This event cannot happen without the support of our families and community. In addition to needing funding for t-shirts, we also are in need of donations for fruit pops, door prizes, and awards. If you would be willing to offer assistance, please contact Ms. Killebrew ([email protected]) or Mrs. Etienne ([email protected]).

Congratulations, Mrs. Fussner!!
Mrs. Fussner, 8th grade History teacher
at Castle North, has been selected to at-
tend a two week program at the Midway
Institute this summer in San Diego, California where she
will gain different perspectives on World War II through
presentation and lectures from experts and university
professors published in the field.
We look forward to hearing about her experience next
fall! Great things are happening at CNMS!

State Results
from CNMS Archery Club
Team 2 had an impressive score (the highest team 2 score we have recorded at a state/national/world tournament!) of
3190, with 96 tens! This earned team 2 a placing of 10th out of 29 teams - great job!
This was the largest Indiana NASP tournament to date. There were 2,066 archers competing on 94 teams
(Elementary, Middle & High School).
We want to congratulate all our archers for their efforts this weekend, and for the parents in getting them there safely
and spending the day with the teams.
Highlights of some of the archer's accomplishments:
Jack Watson also advanced to the final round in the shoot off for the overall best male archer, but was edged out by a
Memorial archer.
Coach Reed and Coach Clodfelter always encourage the archers to shoot for their personal best. When archers
achieve their personal best during a normal tournament, it is an accomplishment to be proud of, and they receive a star
decal to put on their bow case as a reminder. When an archer shoots their personal best at the largest state tourna-
ment we have ever participated in, that is an awesome accomplishment! We had 14 archers out of 48 shoot their per-
sonal best (and some by a huge jump) at the state tournament yesterday!
Normal practices for the ENTIRE club (ALL ~96 archers) will resume on Tuesday, March 29 at 6am in Gym B.
Our next local tournament is April 1-2 at Boonville. We will be monitoring scores and performance of ALL archers over
the next few weeks as we prepare for the National tournament in Louisville May 12-14.
