Trident Technical College Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development is offering a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Training Program at the TTC St. Paul’s Parish Site for qualified applicants. Tuition and books will be provided at no cost to the students who qualify. Students who successfully complete the CNA training are eligible to sit for the S.C. Nurse Aide Certification Exam and will receive a TTC Certified Nurse Aide lapel pin. Health care jobs are in-demand, with good wages and benefits. Get in on the ground floor and move up!

The program provides the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to become a certified nurse aide. CNA’s perform tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. Nurse aides monitor and record vital signs and perform personal care skills including bathing, dressing and toileting; assisting with meals; transfers and ambulation; linen changes and room organization; and safety issues following facility policies and procedures. A 50-hour clinical externship will begin immediately upon completion of the 80 classroom hours.

To qualify for the freetuition and books, you must:

• be unemployed or underemployed

• have a high school diploma or GED

• successfully pass a drug screen and background check

• be at least 18 years old

• be a U.S. citizen or legal resident residing in South Carolina

• be able to meet physical requirements of a health care position as a CNA

• attend an orientation session

Orientation session begins in November 2014 and classes

begin in January 2015.
