November 2016 HATS OFF TO YOU Mt. Carmel Veterans Benton Edition The Pinnacle of Senior Living Mt. Carmel CONNECTIONS WITH RESPECT, HONOR AND GRATITUDE, WE THANK OUR VETERANS The expression “hats off to you” has been around since the 19th century. In the old days, when wearing hats was commonplace, men showed their respect by removing or tipping their hats. No one in our community is more worthy of our respect and lasting gratitude than our veterans. When they accepted the call to serve our country they were already wearing many hats. They had careers and families that they had to leave behind at the drop of a hat. We will honor Mt. Carmel’s veterans with a special Veterans Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 9. Be sure to refer to the newsletter insert for all the Veterans Day activities that will be taking place this month. Along with saying, “Our hats are off to you!” to our veterans, and in celebration of International Hat Day (November 23), our activity directors have put on their thinking caps to bring you a variety of hat-themed activities this month that are anything but “old hat”! Come on out and join the fun!

The expression “hats off to you” has been around since the 19th century.
