Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week – 2013
Vigilance Awareness week -2013 was observed in FACT as per instructions of CVC. The Theme recommended by CVC for the year was Promoting Good Governance – Positive Contribution of Vigilance. The Week long activity was started by taking vigilance pledge on 28th October at all Divisions wherein officers and staff participated A quiz competition covering various Rules and Procedures of FACT as well as CVC Manual was conducted for the staff 28th October afternoon. In order to have more participation the quiz was conducted both online and off line, and it was an open book competition. On 30th morning the observance of Vigilance Awareness week -2013 was formally inaugurated by Shri. Rishi Raj Singh IPS, Transport Commissioner Government of Kerala. During his inaugural address he stressed the need for bringing in more transparency in to the system for promoting good Governance and curbing corruption. Shri. P Muthuswamy Director (Finance), Shri V.K Anil Director (Technical) and Shri J.Vinayan IRTS, CVO also spoke on the occasion. Shri P.Sreekumar DGM (Vigilance) welcomed the guests and Shri S.Hariharan GM (CF) offered vote of thanks. A one day workshop on the Role of Disciplinary Authorities followed the inaugural meeting. The Workshop was attended by about 75 officers of FACT including GMs DGM s and Chief Managers and all officers from HR department. The Work shop was inaugurated by Shri V.K Anil Director(Technical) Shri J.P Pradeep GM(HR) and CVO spoke on the need for such a workshop .Shri P.Sreekumar DGM(Vigilance) made a presentation on the Role Of Disciplinary Authorities explaining in detail the Quazi Judicial nature of the Role of a Disciplinary authority . The workshop was highly interactive and the queries raised by the participants were answered by CVO .The workshop concluded by 4.15PM. An essay competition in Malayalam, Hindi &English, for staff was conducted on 30th
afternoon on subject “Promoting Good Governance – Positive Contribution of Vigilance”. Patriotic song completion for staff and their spouse was conducted on 1st Nov. Apart from the various competitions for staff members an Essay competition in
Malayalam and English on the subject –“What Today’s youth want from the
Government and How Vigilance and Ethics can ensure provision of good
governance” was conducted in Malayalam and English for XI,XII class students from the schools in Ernakulam district. About 100 entries were received. A cartoon competition for high school students from schools in Eloor Municipality was conducted on 31st October. The Valedictory function was held on 2nd November. Shri Jaiveer Srivatava CMD FACT was the Chief Guest of the function. The key note speaker was Shri Alexander Jacob IPS Director General (prisons) Government of Kerala. He made an exemplary speech explaining the history of development of good governance, corruption and anticorruption activities right from the ancient times of Athens.CVO Shri J Vinayan also spoke on the occasion. Shri P.Sreekumar DGM (Vigilance) welcomed the guests and Shri D.Nadakumar (GM) Marketing offered vote of Thanks. The prizes for the winners of various competitions were presented by Shri Alexander Jacob IPS and Shri Jaiveer Srivastava. The Vigilance Rolling Trophy for the Division scoring the highest point in the competitions was won by Udyogamadal Complex. The rolling trophy was received by Sri M.Sreekumar JGM (UC)
