It seems like only yesterday we were ushering in 2012. Time passes so quickly when
we are always busy. The hustle & bustle of our lives can sometimes take away the time
we spend with God and our families. Two of my resolutions for 2013 are to actively
spend more quiet times, and longer times, with God and to spend more quality time
with my family. Setting aside these times may require sacrifice on my part, but the sac‐
rifice will be well worth the reward. I pray this year we each seek to spend more time
at Jesus’ feet, and to enjoy the blessings He has given us. CMA
“O God, You are my God, early I will seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my fleshlongs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So I havelooked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. BecauseYour loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You”
(Psalm 63:1-3, NKJV).
LIFE CHANGINGI just got a wonderful letter frommy son about how your grouphas changed his life. His name isRichard and he is an inmate. I'mso thankful that he found yourinformation and is changing hislife. I have prayed for a changeand my prayers have beenanswered. Thank You again forall you do.

Thank YouThanks so much for your dedica‐tion to God and especially allow‐ing the Spirit of God to speakthrough you. I count myselfblessed to have access to all theCMA devotional emails and the e‐version of the HeartBeat. Thesereadings have rebuked, correct‐ed, directed my thoughts and hasreally been ostensibly so muchencouragement to my walk withChrist as well as a source of
strength with my work in theministry. This is good and Iappreciate all that I have receivedthroughout this year as well asthe past four years. I live in a veryremote part of Uganda and it’snot easy to have access to solidteaching about Christ. I am thank‐ful to God for letting me knowCMA.

The Lord has been dealing
with me on the scripture,
“Yet you do not have because
you do not ask. You ask and do
not receive, because you ask
amiss, that you may spend it on
your pleasures” (James 4:2b‐3,
NKJV). I have glimpsed what I believe God
wants to do through the ministry of
CMA. It is so large that it scares me
and I realize that it is only capable of
being accomplished through a divine
move of the Spirit of God. This moves
me so far outside of my comfort zone
that at times I do not know what to do.
I have realized that for some time a
miracle is something we cannot do in
the flesh, but only through God. This
gives me great comfort in knowing
that if I will follow the Holy Spirit, He
will accomplish His will. In the case of
CMA, it is about all of us following the
Holy Spirit. I believe this is a defining
moment within the ministry. Ministry
opportunities are beginning to open
rapidly around the world. God has
given us favor in the motorcycling
world and we have more opportuni‐
ties to share the gospel than we have
resources. We are seeing increased
results through our Run for the Son
partners, with more opportunities for
evangelism than normal.
The Holy Spirit has shown me
three areas that are strategic in mov‐
ing the ministry forward: evangeliz‐
ing the motorcycling world, develop‐
ing systems for mentoring and train‐
ing leaders in the US and around the
world, and making greater invest‐
ments in areas like Run for the Son.
These tie in with the four things that
God showed me He would do
throughout this decade, which are:
increasing His anointing and power,
raising the visibility of CMA around
the world, tearing down walls that we
may respond quickly, and pouring
more finances into the ministry.
I hear God saying to my spirit, “You
have not because you ask not.” The
expansion of evangelism in the areas I
have shared with you is impossible
with man, but it is not impossible with
God. God has already begun to make
connections in both the earthly and
heavenly realm to accomplish this.
The Holy Spirit is moving fast and
we are a part of this plan. Please help
me pray that we will be obedient and
move under His leadership. Pray with
me that we would ask and move with‐
in the realm He has called us to. I am
honored to be part of what God is
doing with you in the Kingdom and in
the ministry of CMA. CMA

Ready or not, 2013 is here! 2012 is history and
we’re looking ahead to see what this new year has
in store for us. If you’re anything like me, I see
things that I’d like to change in my life and each year I
determine that it’s going to be different in the new year.
We typically call those “New Year’s Resolutions”. We
make a list of what we’ve resolved to do differently and
maybe post it on the refrigerator. How many times have I
struggled with keeping those and I’m not always success‐
ful. Most of the items on my list are things I need to do to
be a better Christian and to demonstrate it better to those
around me.
Paul speaks of this in Romans, “I want to do what is
right, but I can't. I want to do what is good, but I don't. I
don't want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway”
(Romans 7:18‐20, NLT). Why is it that we do that?
I believe it goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden.
“Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east,
and there he placed the man he had made. The Lord God
made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground—trees
that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In
the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:8‐9,
NLT). We go on to read in Genesis 2:16‐17, “But the Lord
God warned him, ‘You may freely eat the fruit of every
tree in the garden except the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.’”
Why did God put that restriction on Adam and Eve? He
gave them a choice. God didn’t want them to love and
serve Him because they had to, He wanted them to love
and serve Him because they wanted to!
In my mind, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil
represents a list of rules. Now, there is nothing wrong
with rules (New Year’s Resolutions), but God didn’t
intend for us to live by a list of rules! On the other hand,
the tree of life represents a personal, intimate relation‐
ship with God. And that is what God desires to have with
each of His kids!
When there is no relationship, you need to have rules.
You need to know what is good and bad so you’ll know
what you should and should not do. Can you imagine liv‐
ing in a world without rules? It would be nothing but
chaos!
But when there is relationship, there is no need for a
list of rules! You do the things you do because you want to
please the one you’re in relationship with. I don’t have to
check a list to know that my wife wants me to tell her that
I love her. I tell her that I love her because we have an inti‐
mate relationship and I want to express that to her.
Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and thatthey may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10, NKJV).
You can’t live an abundant life if you’re always frustrated
because you can’t do everything that is on your list!
What’s on your New Year’s Resolutions list?
Let’s purpose
in our hearts
that in 2013, our
personal, inti‐
mate relation‐
ship with God is
going to be our
priority. If we do
that, I believe
that the list will
take care of
itself. CMA Hiram and Sharon Villaseñor oversee theRocky Mountain Region as Natoinal Evangelist.

Ilike to use these words from Psalm
19 when I start to deliver God’s
message, “May the words of my
mouth and the meditations of my
heart be ever pleasing in your eyes
dear Lord.”
I started my journey to the Lord
when I went on my Emmaus Walk in
2006. I was a Christian, but really did‐
n’t know what it meant to be one. The
Lord really shook me up while on that
walk, and then my wife let me pur‐
chase a motorcycle. My wife and I
joined the Brownwood chapter of
CMA and for a while that was great.
However one night I mentioned to
Bob McClain that I wished there was a
chapter in Brady so we wouldn’t have
to travel so far to make the meetings.
He told me that if I wanted one in
Brady, I’d have to get one started.
Now that was something I had not
visualized or really thought of. I had a
few men that I rode with at church
and we would go for some Sunday
rides and just relax. I mentioned the
idea to them and that is when it took
off. All of my riding friends shouted
“let’s get this thing going.” So, we
went to the radio station and broad‐
cast out to the public that we wanted
to start a CMA Chapter right here in
Brady, Texas.
Have I mentioned that I am a
retired State Cop (State Game
Warden) and usually we cops have
very definite ideas of what is right
and wrong, and we are always in
charge of any situation we are in. Ha,
boy did I have a lot to learn from the
Lord. Mitch Van Horn, Joe King, and
Leslie Schumann were my biggest
supporters. When they heard what I
wanted to do, they all jumped in and
things started rolling.
CMA… just what was CMA?
Christian Motorcyclists Association, I
still really didn’t have an idea of just
what CMA did. In 2010 Eileen and I
went with the Heart of Texas Son
Riders, to our first Run for the Son,
Leslie and his wife Elisha, and Mitch
went with us. It was awe inspiring
and a life changing event. When I
finally understood what we were
doing and why, it started to sink in. I
came back home with an idea and it
started to gel and God went to work
on me. Bob McClain is a ball of fire;
when he gets started he is going to get
things done. Bob was the Area Rep.
and he saw what we were about and
he got in to help us. Without him and
his assistance we might have never
got off the ground. He traveled to each
meeting night with the videos we had
to watch and then he explained why
they were so essential.
I know that God has a plan for us in
Brady and we want to follow that
plan. God is at work and the Holy
Spirit is pushing us to do more and
better things. I learned one thing for
sure, I am not in charge! God is in
charge and He will let you know that.
We now have had one Toy Run for 16
youngsters at the Brady Community
Church and we were blown away by
the generosity of the folks in this area.
It was overwhelming to say the least.
I was beginning to see a little more
of what being a CMA member was all
about. Helping others and being there
when needed. We received our char‐
ter at the Seasons of Refreshing this
year and we are forging ahead. We
made our first Run for the Son this
year as a chartered CMA chapter and
it felt good. We knew a little more of
what we were doing and why Run for
the Son is so important to our organi‐
zation and to so many others. God
works in all of us, but some he pushes
harder than others.
We have a couple in our chapter
that fits that bill pretty well. This
young man stated at our last months
meeting that we need to meet more
than just once a month. He said that
we don’t get to know each other doing
that and we need to find the support
and friendship that projects from all
of us to each other. He hosted a ham‐
burger supper and fellowship at his
ranch house recently and it was great.
So the Heart of Texas Cycle Saints
now meet twice a month. The second
meeting is not a business meeting
though, it is a gathering for fellowship
and prayer.
The Heart of Texas Cycle Saints is a
viable, growing, and God loving bunch
of Christians that just happen to love
to ride motorcycles. We try to keep
the atmosphere of our meeting light,
but we do get our business conduct‐
ed. I am not saying that I had much to
do with how the Cycle Saints have
grown, but I know that God has. He is
alive and He is working with us and
through us. So, come see us if you can,
we meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday
of each month in a very quiet location,
and we love to have visitors. CMA

Greetings to you. Happy New Year!
Eileen and I are excited to see
what God has in store for us and CMA
in this new year. Time is getting short
and we need to do all we can to take
Jesus to the lost of this world. Many
times we may ask ourselves; “are we
really making a difference?” Read the
article below and see what happens
when you are willing to step out of the
boat.
Think where you might be, if some‐
one would not have taken the time to
show you Jesus.
Life Changing Benefits of the BoothMinistry
Oh, the "booth ministry"! You
know the one ministry where you
have to get up earlier than everyone
else, pack the car while everyone else
rides and then you sit sometimes by
yourself. When we joined CMA did we
sign up for this? I guess the answer
would have to be yes because this IS
the ministry of CMA. I remember
when we were first in the chapter and
someone asked, "who would be will‐
ing to set up the booth?”. Ray and I
agreed to do it, not really knowing
how that ministry would change our
lives in a way we would never have
thought possible.
There are two men I want to tell
you about and they share the same
first name so before we all get very
confused I'm going to use the biker
name of one of them, his name is
Tinman and the others name is Rick
and both of them were members of a
Motorcycle Club.
We met both of
these bikers at
secular events
where we had set
up the CMA
booth and
Tinman had set
up his booth sell‐
ing pins, patches
and some very
special zipper
pulls. When God puts people in your
path and that's who He wants you to
minister to there's no stopping the
Holy Spirit! Again and again these
men were brought before us at dif‐
ferent events including Laconia
where we were working the booth
and Rick approached us, greeting us
as old friends. He had his patch on
and we had our patch on but he was
so drawn to CMA it didn't matter to
him, he saw friends and that's what
mattered. Rick and his wife became
friends with another couple from one
of our Rhode Island chapters and
their friendship grew.
Over the years we would run into
Rick or we would hear how he was
and the news was not good, Rick had
cancer. The next time we saw him it
was in a hospital bed and the progno‐
sis was not good. The four of us
would visit, laugh with him and pray
with him. He was still with his club
and sometimes members were there
and our visit might be cut short, but
we were always invited back. We got
a call one day that he was "ready"
and wanted us to come for a visit.
Armed with our Gospel beads and
prayed up, we went into Rick's room
and he was given the beads, the
Gospel and he now knew the way to
Heaven. That night Rick made the
decision to put his life in the hands of
Jesus, Praise God! The last time we
saw Rick he was in hospice and we
knew his time
was near, God
was calling him
home. After he
went home to be
with the Lord we
received the
news we had
been praying for
and that was
that we would all
be able to speak
at his wake! God gives us what we
need when we need it and we all
learned that the day we spoke in
front of 400 bikers.
Ray and I and Mike and Brenda
LaPlant had the opportunity to speak
and lead them in the Lord's Prayer
and explain how Rick was now with
the Lord because of the decision he
had made. Ray explained how
through these colored beads he was
shown the way to heaven and he
made the decision to take that road to
eternal life. One man came to Ray
after the service and asked for the
beads! There are standout moments
in our lives that we know we will
never forget and I know none of us
will ever forget the afternoon when
we had the opportunity to stand
before all these men and women and
give them the Good News and to also
tell them that their friend is alive in
Jesus.
Now I will tell you about Tinman.
"Why do they call you Tinman?" I hon‐
estly thought it was because of the
pins he was selling but he said he was
called that because he needed a new
heart. From the moment Ray and I
met him I knew we were going to be
friends, there was something about
him that we were drawn to. Or rather

When God puts peoplein your path and that’swho He wants you toministry to there’s no
stopping the Holy Spirit.
What is the biggest complaint par‐
ents and teachers have on stu‐
dents? More than anything else I hear
parents saying, “My teenager doesn’t
listen.” Whether
young people
have selective
hearing when it
comes to the
advice and
instruction their
parents give them
is probably not in
question. But
most all of us, no
matter what age
we are, have trou‐
ble sometimes listening, especially
when it comes to listening to spiritual
direction from God. We all desire to
share with others around us about our
Savior, but sometimes the words
aren’t there and they don’t come easi‐
ly.
Have you ever thought of it this way:
When you can’t hear clearly, it’s hard to
learn to speak as well. Consider the
man in Mark 7. He was deaf and conse‐
quently had a speech impediment.
When we aren’t listening with the ears
of our spiritual man, we can’t under‐
stand what God is saying to us. This
makes it very hard to open our mouths
to share with others God’s Word and
His unfailing love. There is a definite
correlation between hearing and
speaking. You can
hardly speak
without hearing.
Maybe the
problem is in
what we are lis‐
tening to. If we
listen to our own
desires and
thoughts, we turn
a deaf ear to the
voice of God. If
we listen too
much to the culture around us, we
block out the other‐worldly leading of
the Holy Spirit. We can have so much
ambient noise in our lives, we become
deaf to the voice of God as He tenderly
and continually speaks to us.
If you are having a hard time listen‐
ing to Jesus and having a hard time
speaking His words to others around
you, the place to start is with the
Savior. Jesus is the miracle worker.
Maybe you don’t care too much for
reading God’s Word or waiting around
in prayer to hear His directions. The
best place to start is to simply ask Jesus
to heal your “deaf ears.” A simple
prayer of “Jesus, open my ears to hear
you” can make all the difference.
Jesus wants to unplug our spiritual
ears so we can hear His guidance.
When he frees up our hearing, we can
discern what He desires for us. Then
He touches our tongue. When we hear
Him, we can begin to share with others
what He is saying to us: revealing His
plan to the world around us. Why not
invite Jesus to do a healing on your ears
and tongue? Allow Him to open your
ears to His voice, to the leading of the
Holy Spirit and allow Him to fill your
mouth with the words He would have
you to speak to other young people
around you. CMA

Youth Movement

By JEROD McPherson
Who are we looking at? Matthew
14:22. Jesus sent His disciples
out into the boat while He went up to
pray and a storm arose and the disci‐
ples were afraid. These are the men
who walked with Jesus and just saw
Him feed the 5,000 men plus the
women and children with 5 SMALL
loaves and 2 fishes. They had seen
many miracles and had heard Him say I
will never leave or forsake you. These
men in the boat saw a GHOST, not Jesus
coming to them. They were filled with
fear. Where are we in our faith as we
face the New Year and wonder what is
going to happen to our America? Do we
look at the circumstances around us
and say no hope or do we look to the
Lord of Lord’s and the King of Kings
and say we know who you are and we
will look to you and pray and BELIEVE
that YOU are in control of the waves
and the wind in our lives.
Just recently we were on our mis‐
sion trip to Paraguay with Norb
Kurrele and we walked and talked with
a man who is living out his faith day by
day. He had just lost his beautiful wife,
Julie, and precious six year old son,
Timmy, in a car accident. He could have
chose to not do the work of a mission‐
ary anymore and we would have
understood because he has a little girl
two years old Anahi to look after. Yes!!
He has great sorrow and loss. Yes! He is
in mourning and he has his moments
but He sees Jesus, not a ghost when he
looks at the storm. The disciples saw a
ghost in the storm except for Peter who
said if it is you Lord I will come. This is
what Norb has done, he has said Lord I
will continue if you say so. Peter did
what no man has ever done he walked
on water because he saw and knew it
was Jesus. Where are we today? Do we
see and know who the head of our life
is. Do we see Jesus as our future or do
we see our circumstances and our pos‐
sessions? Our prayer is that we and all
of you see our Jesus in the midst of this
storm and know that He alone can calm
the storm and command the waves to
be still. We must choose to see our
Jesus and to pray for our nation now
and forever. CMA

Most chapters seem to ebb and
flow over time, sometimes grow‐
ing and adding lots of new members
for a time and then ebbing again as
folks move away or drift into other
interests. We are thankful for that core
group of faithful long term members
but when your chapter is in a slump,
what can you do to revive interest and
draw folks in again?
We trust God to bring in those He
has called to this ministry. But we too
must examine our hearts and our
actions and prayerfully ask God to
reveal to us if there are things we are
doing that might be preventing growth
or causing people to hold back from
joining with us. Be open to the leading
of the Holy Spirit and let prayer be the
first thing you do to bring about
change and growth.
Here are some practical suggestions
of how to revive your chapter.
NEW MEMBERSEvery quarter, your State
Coordinator gets a list of new mem‐
bers and Ministry Team completions.
It is helpful if someone has the time to
follow through on these with a letter
or email including the State Rally and
other local event flyers as well as local
chapter information. A follow up
phone call and personal invitation
from the chapter president makes a
new member feel welcome. If possible,
send new members a welcome letter
with information about CMA, a DVD on
RFS, or a great testimony DVD like the
Billy Rivers or Ragg Tract Al. Make full
use of Tool Box items available to you.
INACTIVE MEMBERSThe State Coordinator has access to
a list of all members past and present
in your area. While this list is not for
general distribution, your State
Coordinator or Area Rep may be will‐
ing to provide you with a list of mem‐
bers from your area. Check with long
standing members about the history of
people you don’t know or why they
may have stopped participating. Make
a phone call inviting inactive members
to return. New leaders are especially
effective making these calls since they
may hear of concerns and reasons for
leaving that can be addressed and
resolved or that are no longer relevant.
Some folks just need to know they
are needed. Former members who just
got busier doing other things may be
encouraged to return if they know the
chapter is dwindling and trying to
rebuild and that they are missed and
needed.
CMA now has a post card you can
purchase from the Goodie Store Tool
Box specifically for contacting mem‐
bers you haven’t seen in a while.
FINDING NEW MEMBERSChurch Visits are a good way to find
folks who didn’t know there was such
a thing as Christian motorcyclists. Ask
the pastor for some time to share what
CMA is all about and then leave
brochures, tracts and contact info. Ask
to leave a flyer or Come Ride with Us
poster on their bulletin board. Note:
DO NOT ask for or accept donations.

To inquire: [email protected] Powell - 310 7th St. - Mena, AR 71953
You should go in asking for nothing
but exposure and prayer support.
Advertise! Herb Shreve started this
ministry with a simple ad in a motor‐
cycle magazine. Look at the local news‐
paper and radio for free community
activity pages and announcements.
Consider advertising in the classi‐
fied ads under Motorcycles For Sale
(depending on cost). A simple ad might
read : “Come Ride with Us‐
CMAusa.org‐ for a chapter near you
call…” Provide a local number or email
for the State Coordinator or Area Rep
or chapter President. Make use of free
on line classifieds like Craig’s List.
KEEP YOUR ADVERTISING FRESHWhen was the last time you checked
on the Come Ride with Us poster in
your local bike shop? Is it still there?
Are the dates and meeting times cor‐
rect? Is it prominently displayed?
Some bike shops may even allow you
to put in a small table or display of
CMA information, depending on the
owner. Ask.
Post flyers in gas station windows,
parts places, repair shops, super mar‐
kets, and restaurants. Be sure and
check on them often to make sure they
are not out dated. Ask different mem‐
bers to be responsible for this.
Ride to neighboring communities
and do the same. Anywhere they let
you, post a flyer. Consider posting a
flyer or 3x5 card on bulletin boards at
your job or in public places where peo‐
ple post items for sale or rent.
GET OUT AND RIDE!Plan rides to local events such as
county fairs, crafts shows, and farmers
markets. Be seen! Plan a ride to a local
community location where people like
to gather: parks, the local coffee shop,
or the gas station/market in a small
town. Have a coke or a cup of coffee
and chat with folks who come by.
Sunday afternoon rides are a good
draw‐ especially after a church visit.
This would encourage church mem‐
bers to become involved and make it
clear that your ministry does not
always keep members out of church.
This is also a time when folks who
work evenings and weekends can par‐
ticipate.
Make contact business cards to
leave on motorcycles in parking lots.
This was very successful for a chapter
that wanted to draw some of the local
college students.
AT THE BOOTH /EVENTHave a sign‐up sheet in your booth
for people who might be interested in
CMA and be sure and follow through
after the event.
Have printed copies of your ride
schedule on the table to give away.
Make it easy for someone with margin‐
al interest to come and check you out
or at least participate in a ride they
would like to take.
Put out a bowl of shelled peanuts or
a large bowl of pop corn with small
cups to keep people coming back to
the booth. Meeting people and making
connections is what it is all about.
AT THE MEETINGChange your M.O. Changing where
when and how you meet can open
doors to new members. If you always
met for breakfast, try having a Sunday
afternoon meeting or a Friday night
pizza gathering. Go to a different
restaurant or venue on a different day
or time and see if that draws more
members.
Consider two meetings a month‐
one for your regular meeting and
maybe one just for a pie and coffee fel‐
lowship during the lunch hour, on a
weekend or week night evening.
Make Your Meetings Memorable!Move your meeting along. No one
wants to just sit and listen to just one
person talk for an hour. Mix it up with
different speakers, reports from your
officers, and brief event and ride
reports from your members. Always
be brief and concise.

Jennifer Gregoire was standing at a
busy intersection, observing the
traffic and was about to cross the
John Stark Highway from the
McDonald’s parking lot. It was
Mother’s Day weekend and her par‐
ents were going to visit her
Grandmother in Massachusetts but
she had to work her shift at Subway
so she stayed behind. She had
observed that the lanes appeared to
be safe to cross but was unfortunate‐
ly unable to see past the large SUV in
the center lane. As she proceeded to
make her way past the SUV, she was
hit by a pickup truck going approxi‐
mately 32mph, and was carried on its
hood until she fell off. The driver
never saw her crossing.
“It just so happened” that in the
parking lot a large group of CMA’ers
were gathering from their Run for the
Son rides. It was the meeting destina‐
tion for several chapters from the
New England area. They were busy
sharing stories and excited about the
beginning of another riding season as
well as the joy of donating to the caus‐
es CMA supports through this special
day.
Along with the sounds of the bikes
arriving, they heard sirens and saw
flashing lights at the intersection. A
few members went over to check out
the scene and discovered there had
been an accident. They had no idea
who the person was or what had hap‐
pened. Quickly, they gathered togeth‐
er and lifted this person up in prayer.
They believed from what they had
heard that it was a young child but
nevertheless, were assured that God
already knew and He was taking care
of things. They asked God to be with
those surrounding all who were
involved and continued in prayer
throughout their time there.
“It just so happened” that coming
out of a nearby store was a “retired”
paramedic who rushed to the scene
and saved Jennifer from choking on
the teeth that were knocked into her
air passage from the impact. Michelle
stayed with Jennifer and comforted
her during this critical ordeal until
other help arrived. And “it just so hap‐
pened” that down the road was a
sporting event where fire trucks and
police were standing by “just in case.”
Because of this, they were able to be
at the scene within minutes.
Within 20 minutes, Jennifer was
loaded into the DART helicopter and
taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock
Medical Center where her father, Jim
also works. We stood in prayer and
wondered if we would ever know the
outcome of this person.
Jennifer spent nine days in inten‐
sive care and endured months of
physical therapy. Her right arm had
been severely broken as well as six
ribs and several hairline facial frac‐
tures. Her father recounted to us how
difficult it had been for him to return
home and see Jennifer’s birthday cake
still there on the table. She had just
turned 22 years old a few days prior
but looked much younger than her
age, thus confusing the paramedics
who estimated her age to be much
younger than it was. As her parents
entered the hospital room where
Jennifer was, she signed the letters
W‐O‐R‐K and they quickly realized
that her concern had been for the job
that she would not be able to perform.
Their faith in God was what sustained
them through these difficult days. No
one from CMA had any idea if this
person was saved or not.
“It just so happened” that because
of this accident with Jennifer,
Michelle decided to work as a para‐
medic again. Michelle had grown
weary of the stresses of this intense
line of work but came to realize that
her availability on that particular day
helped to save Jennifer’s life. She and
Jennifer later met and discussed the
events of that day that Jennifer was
not aware of.
The Run for the Son on May 5,
2012 was again a happy event for all
the usual reasons, but also because “it
just so happened” that Jennifer and
her Mom and Dad were able to be
with us. We were able to hear of
Jennifer’s incredible progress and
meet the person we had prayed for.
Jennifer even got a motorcycle ride
from one of our members.
“We know as Christians, that “it
just so happened” is not in our vocab‐
ulary. God orchestrates each step of
our lives and they are directed by
Him. It is wonderful to see the way He
works and His timing. It is wonderful
to know that He has great things in
store for each of our lives, as we yield
them to His purpose. After what
Jennifer Gregoire endured, we are
sure God has exciting things in store
for her! CMA

RFS Network
This isn’t a new suggestion but one that is worthy of
repeating. It is a simple, fun way to raise funds for RFS
while keeping up with your ministry. I know of at least
one chapter working doing this but I hope there are more.
The object is to collect one mile of quarters (or the
equivalent funds) which amounts to $15,840.00. A mile is
1760 yards. One quarter is one inch wide with 12 equal‐
ing one foot or $3.00 and obviously $9.00 as measured in a
yard or 36 inches.
The key is to have a spreadsheet of some form to track
the individual’s giving. Perhaps an excel spreadsheet or a
simple accountants analysis pad. Collecting the money at
the monthly chapter meetings is simple and won’t con‐
sume much time if each person has available a Ziploc bag
to put their name on and quarters or money in. This is to
insure every participant is credited for their donation. To
avoid confusion and assure integrity it is suggested that 2
people count and record the money in each bag before the
end of the meeting.
Depending on the total, the money collected could be
sent in monthly, quarterly or at the end of the year. Just be
sure and include the individual amounts. CMA

(continued from page 07)was it the Holy Spirit drawing us
together? His booth was set up across
from ours at a bike blessing and I
went over to look over his pins and
there they were, the zipper pulls in
the shape of a cross with a crown of
thorns on the cross. I bought a few
and told him I was going to use them
as a witnessing tool. "You mean give
them away" was his response and
after some discussion he sold me a
dozen at a reduced price! We became
friends and over the years that friend‐
ship blossomed in ways I would never
have thought possible but as we all
know all things are possible to those
who love the Lord! One afternoon at a
bike blessing Ray prayed with him,
blessed both him and his bike and
explained how Jesus loves him and
wants a relationship with him.
Tinman prayed that day and accepted
the Lord, what a day that was! Not
only were the angels rejoicing, we
were right there with them!
Tinman would have dinner with us
and he once came to a CMA fellowship
at our home and prayed with us over
a member that was having problems,
in other words he was growing in his
faith. He started coming to church
with us and when Pastor mentioned a
food pantry he was right there help‐
ing to organize it. He also started
helping out at one of the homeless
shelters in the state and from his car
trunk he would hand out scarves, mit‐
tens and coats in the winter. He got all
these donated from the boxes he had
set up at various places. All of this was
great but my greatest joy was sitting
next to him in church and hearing him
sing praises and lifting those huge
arms up to the Lord.
He was on a waiting list for a new
heart but he never had that opportu‐
nity, the Lord called him home this
year surrounded by his family, friends
and his biker family. His memory lives
on in the community through the food
pantry set up at our church. This past
May we had a biker appreciation serv‐
ice at church and Tinman's family and
friends were all there to hear the pas‐
tor say that the pantry was now being
called Tinman Food Pantry.
So as you can see the booth min‐
istry does have life changing benefits.
Our lives are better for having met
these two men and their lives were
changed because of a decision they
both made. Would they have ever
have heard the gospel if we weren't
there at that time, I believe they
would have because God had a plan
for them, a plan for them both to be in
Glory with Him. We were just avail‐
able, working a booth and looking for
a friend with whom we could share
the Good News. Please don't ever look
at a biker and think he's too big, too
bad or that he'll never listen. God will
equip you with what you need to min‐
ister to that biker and it will be just
what he needs to hear! CMA

or Motorcycle safety instructor or
motorcycle mechanic to address the
group briefly on some aspect of motor‐
cycling in your community.
Have a Special Event MeetingIf you know someone who has taken
a really spectacular adventure ride
(like someone who rode from Alaska to
South America), invite him or her to
share an overview or to show pictures
of their ride. Secure a somewhat public
meeting place such as a church or local
community or library room. Invite lots
of your motorcycling friends and serve
coffee and cookies. Its good fun and
gives CMA more exposure in the com‐
munity. Note: Preview content to be
sure everything said and shared is
appropriate for a CMA sponsored
event.
HAVE FUNHave a drawing or fun way to ran‐
domly choose someone at the end of
the meeting to buy their meal.
Try having door prizes and fund
raisers or auctions for RFS, just for fun.
Have ongoing “games” or competi‐
tions to bring folks back and make it
fun.
For instance, one chapter had a
monthly and annual mileage award
they called the Exodus Award because
you could cover a lot of miles without
traveling far from home. Every month
the Road Captain tracked the miles on
everyone’s motorcycle odometers. The
most miles over last month won an
inexpensive plastic pin that read
Exodus Award June 2012. You could
only count miles on two consecutive
months, which encouraged attendance
every month. They awarded an annual
trophy at the Christmas party.
Another chapter had a mascot that
had to be returned at the next meeting
and they found creative ways to pass it
along to different members each
month.
Some chapters have a Steeple Chase
where members had to visit churches
in other communities and towns and
return with photos of their bikes in
front of the church. It was an annual
contest to get to the most “steeples.”
WHAT ELSE?Visit other chapter CMA meetings in
your area; not only to encourage them
but to see what they do and maybe get
fresh ideas for reviving your chapter.
FINALLYKnow that this is God’s ministry and
God is able to “expand our territory”
Every inch gained for the kingdom is an
inch stolen from the enemy. We
already know we win. Don’t be dis‐
couraged. God has good things in store
for your chapter. CMA

In 2003, a good friend of mine suggested we go to the
Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota. That was my first
year and I have really enjoyed going since. This year I had
an experience that was just great. CMA works all over
Sturgis; at the race tracks, parking lots, photo towers, hos‐
pitality booth and elsewhere. I usually work the court
house parking lots because I get to meet a lot of people. The
main job is keeping people out of the parking lots so court
house employees will have a place to park.
This year I worked a parking lot where there is not
much traffic. I noticed a couple on their bike parking across
the street. The man was on the bike and his wife was push‐
ing the bike back into the parking space. When he got off he
couldn't walk real well. They came across the street and
asked me how to get to the police station. I gave them the
directions they needed. They left and I continued my job. In
about 20 minutes, I saw this couple coming back across the
parking lot. He was really having a hard time walking. He
was all bent over and she had his arm helping him. When
they got to the railing at the entrance he started leaning on
it. I asked her if he was okay and she said he would be. I
told him I had a chair if he wanted to sit down and he did.
His wife sat in the door of the guard shack. I handed her a
rag tract and she started reading it. When she got to the
prayer at the bottom of the tract she asked me if I would
read it. I said sure and they held hands and bowed their
heads as I read the prayer.
When I got done she looked at me with a big smile on
her face and tears running down her cheeks and thanked
me for what I do. She told me he had a rough life and they
needed this. Then she asked me why I went to Sturgis and
I pointed at her and said you’re the reason. I gave them a
God's Promise Book, CMA fan, and a makeup mirror and
asked him if I could help him to his bike. He said he would
wait until he felt better and then walk to his bike. I had to
leave at that time to go to work at another parking lot and
I saw that they were gone soon after that. Many people ask
why I go to Sturgis. This is why I go. It was a great week and
if I'm able I will go again next year. CMA

The 2013 Seasons of Refreshing focuses CMA chapters and members on the importance of being ledand empowered by the Holy Spirit in all aspects of the ministry. In this training, members will alsolearn these key points:
• CMA chapters and members have a special anointing to minister to motorcyclists.• CMA chapters and members need to maintain total dependence on the Holy Spirit. • CMA chapters and members should be aware of activities and mindsets that disconnect them from
the anointing of the Holy Spirit.• God is always guiding and empowering CMA chapters and members to accomplish the task of
reaching motorcyclists.
