Standard version: diameter, 5 PASS groupslength, 3 PASS groups
equalling a combination of 15 PASS groups:(d1 L1 - d1 L2 - d1 L3 - d2 L1 - d2 L2 - d2 L3 - d3 L1 nd so on, up to d5L3), and in addition:1 group diameter plus1 group length plus1 group diameter minus, length minus1 group fault, mains failure etc. (re-sorting)
For rollers with diameter plus and length plus the classification according to diameters has pri-ority, i.e. such rollers are discharged into the diameter plus case.Other subdivisions of groups are optional.

Required replacement parts
When using replacement parts for different roller typesthere is a wide range of applications for the automatic
high-performance sorter. The following parts areneeded for a single type of roller:
1 ..................guide ring2 ......................channel3..........measuring table4 ..............loading slide5 ............conveyor plate6........circular guideway7 ..................cover ring
The combined measuring stations RS (for cylindrical rol-lers) and RSC (for tapered rollers) serve for measuringand sorting rollers in high-performance operation.
Quality features:✓ infinitely controllable sorting output✓ high flexibility with regard to the assignment of
sorting groups (19 max. available)✓ measuring tables and measuring rulers are equipped
with lapped carbide metal inserts✓ optimum safety in operation thanks to a
comprehensive control and monitoring system✓ user-friendly control system with self-explanatory
menu prompting (incl. 3 sorting programs)✓ immediate localization in case of interruptions by
means of an integrated diagnosis system✓ optional with automatic calibration and temperature
compensation
The rollers are fed to the measuring station via the conveyor unit.Measured values for length and diameter of rollers arepicked up by inductive probes. Rollers are measuredcontinuously while passing the measuring station. The control system coordinates the evaluation of valuesobtained and the subsequent sorting and assignmentby sorting groups.

Conveyance of rollers -in high-performance operation
Rollers are fed continuously to the rotating conveyorring by the automatically controlled, oscillating filler
disk. Incorrectly positioned rollers are rejected and/orblown off from the conveyor ring. Only perfectly
positioned rollers reach the conveyor belt and are fedto the measuring and sorting mechanism. Direct
feeding from the honing or grinding machine to thebelt is an optional feature.
Measuring rollers -in continuous operation
The rollers arriving from the channel are transferred bya loading slide to the conveyor plate which moves the
rollers for continuous measurement through thecombined measuring station. Diameter values areobtained by a so-called peak measurement, while
length values are measured with a pulse.
Sorting rollers according to individual requirements
Individual sorting groups can be defined to meetcustomer's demands. A maximum of 19 sorting groupsare available. Three sorting programs are programmedin the control system.
Example:Sorting program for cylindrical rollers5 PASS groups for roller diameters3 PASS groups for roller lengths
Accordingly, 3 PASS groups for lengths are assigned toeach PASS group for diameters, equalling 15 groups (5 x 3) for PASS rollers (d1L1 - d1L2 - d1L3 - d2L1 -d2L2 - d2L3 - d3L1 - and so on, up to d5L3). Three sorting groups serve for scrap classification, 1 sorting group is reserved for mains failure (faults).
After the measurements, the electronic control systemdischarges the relative roller into the assigned sortinggroup. The rollers are blown off at the right spot by electroni-cally controlled pneumatic valves and reach the case ofthe discharge unit. A system of baffles in the upper part of the dischargeunit ensures that rollers are not damaged in the pro-cess.
Monitoring of rollers - safely and reliably
A comprehensive control and monitoring system enables the staff to quickly localize the cause for anyinterruption.- monitoring the intake air pressure- monitoring the roller feed- blocking safety for the conveyor plate- roller loading check with loading block- electronic level monitoring in discharge cases
