DAY 3: SUN 27 SEP 2020 Barcelona sightseeingJoin a Local Expert in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, and walk through the Roman Gate to see its narrow lanes and old squares. Continue through the Eixample district to behold Gaudí’s extraordinary masterpiece, the Sagrada Família. As you venture inside, look above to see its giant, tree-like pillars and spectacular vaulting. Later stroll along the leafy Ramblas with its market stalls and see the monument to Christopher Columbus. (B)

DAY 4: MON 28 SEP 2020 Barcelona at leisure Enjoy a full day at leisure to delight in Spanish culture and cuisine. Consider joining an optional experience to Montserrat to see the shrine of the Black Madonna? (B)

DAY 5: TUE 29 SEP 2020 Barcelona – San Sebastian Our journey continues through the Ebro Valley to mystical Zaragoza, where we visit the Basilica del Pilar and explore the city’s ancient Roman ruins. Continue to San Sebastian, where tonight we enjoy a sumptuous supper in one of the city’s boutique restaurants. (B,DW) Hotel: Barcelo Costa Vasca – 2 nights

DAY 6: WED 30 SEP 2020 San Sebastian sightseeing Admire San Sebastian as you walk with your Local Expert through the Old Quarter. Then head to Monte Igueldo for breathtaking views of the town and La Concha Bay. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. (B)

DAY 7: THU 01 OCT 2020 San Sebastian – Oviedo Stop in the small coastal town of Comillas. Here we stroll the cobbled streets and atmospheric squares filled with magnificent buildings and historic architecture. Then it’s on to the modern town of Oviedo, where a Local Expert will show you the 9th century churches built when the city was the capital of Christian Spain. DAY 8: FRI 02 OCT 2020 Oviedo – Santiago De CompostelaTravel to the picturesque small fishing village of Cudillero, then cross the Green Coast of Asturias. In Santiago de Compostela visit Prazo do Obradoiro and venture inside the cathedral passing the Gateway of Glory. Tonight sample the local specialties at a local restaurant. DAY 9: SAT 3 OCT 2020 Santiago De Compostela – Porto Travel into Galicia, the northwest region of Spain and to the port city of Vigo. Departing Spain, we continue to Porto. On arrival admire the multi-coloured houses and churches covered in glazes tiles. Then get to know your tawnys and vintages during a port tasting. (B)Hotel: Crowne Plaza Hotel – 1 night

DAY 10: SUN 4 OCT 2020 Porto – Lisbon Cross the Portuguese frontier and skirt the Estrela Mountains en route to Fátima. Join the pilgrims flocking into the great basilica commemorating the miraculous appearance of the Virgin Mary to three young shepherds in 1917. Then venture across the wide Alentejo Plateau to Lisbon, where the evening is free. (B)Hotel – Altis Grand Hotel - 2 nights

DAY 11: MON 5 OCT 2020 Lisbon Sightseeing Exploring with a Local Expert takes you along the avenues of the Lower Town to the Terreiro do Paço with a visit to the Belém Quarter. Enjoy a taste of the famous Pastéis de Belém from a traditional patisserie that has managed to hold on to the secret recipe of Portugal’s finest pastry for almost 200 years. View the Monument to the Discoveries, the more ancient Belém Tower and the 500-year-old Jerónimos Monastery with its Manueline architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The rest of the day is free for you to explore further as you wish. (B)

DAY 12: TUE 6 OCT 2020 Lisbon – Seville Cross the wide Alentejo Plateau, back over the Spanish border. Stop in Jabugo for an insight into the history and curing process of Jamón Ibérico. The subtle differences will be revealed with a tasting. We then continue to the stunning Andalucian capital of Seville. (B,DW)Hotel: Las Casas de la Juderia – 3 nights

DAY 13: WED 7 OCT 2020 Seville Sightseeing This morning your Local Expert will guide you through the maze of narrow lanes and shady squares of the Santa Cruz Quarter. Emerge by the huge walls of the fabulous Alcazar to see La Giralda, the former

minaret of the Great Mosque, but now the cathedral bell tower. Enter the immense 15th century cathedral, the final resting place of Christophe r Columbus and see his tomb enriched with the spoils of the New World. This evening is free - perhaps experience an optional flamenco show? (B)

DAY 14: THU 8 OCT 2020 Seville at Leisure The day is free for you to completely relax or continue exploring this fascinating city. (B)

DAY 15: FRI 9 OCT 2020 Seville – Granada Travel to the historical Andalusian town of Ronda, situated atop steep El Tajo canyon. With your Local Expert, see one of Spain’s oldest bullrings: Plaza de Toros de Ronda. Continue to Granada, where we take a walking tour through the Jewish and Muslim quarter. DAY 16 : SAT 10 OCT 2020 Granada sightseeingOverlooking the town stands one of the most remarkable fortresses ever built, the Alhambra. Led by your Local Expert, explore this palace built as a citadel by the Moors in the 13th century. Stroll through the elegant, exotic water gardens of the Generalife, the royal summer residence. DAY 18 : MON 12 OCT 2020 Costa Del Sol – Tangier Travel to Gibraltar, an overseas territory under British control since 1704. Meet your Local Expert for a guided tour of the Rock of Gibraltar, St. Michael’s Cave and see the Barbary Apes, legendary guardians of the colony. We set sail across the water to Morocco – a land of fragrant spices and colourful souks. We overnight in the great port of Tangier, where we see the Sultan’s Palace and Hasan Tower. DAY 20 : WED 14 OCT 2020 Fes sightseeing Your Local Expert will guide you through the ancient Medina, where you explore the walled city of hidden courtyards, mosques and workshops. Walk through the souks and pass one of the world’s oldest universities. Then you are at leisure to continue exploring as you wish, or relax back at your hotel. Tonight we are treated to a superb Moroccan feast and traditional folklore show. (B,DW)

DAY 21 : THU 15 OCT 2020 Fes – Desert Camp (Merzouga)Leave the bustle of the city and head for the spectacular snow-capped high Atlas Mountains. Continue through Ifrane and the great cedar forests of Azrou before reaching Midelt, where we enjoy a memorable regional lunch. Then up through the magnificent Ziz Gorges, past palm-fringed towns to the charming Sahara village of Merzouga. We then camp out traditional style for our overnight accommodation. DAY 22 : FRI 16 OCT 2020 Desert Camp (Merzouga) – Ouarzazate Venture towards the oasis of Tinehir before taking a detour to explore the Todra Gorge- the Grand Canyon of the Sahara. Encounter the dry, rugged Dades Valley as we follow the road of a thousand kasbahs and stop for Berber tea at a traditional Nomad house. Then it’s on to Ouarzazate, film capital of Morocco, backdrop to famous movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Cleopatra, Gladiator and Star Wars. DAY 23 : SAT 17 OCT 2020 Ourzazate – Marrakesh Get your cameras ready as you stop at the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou in the High Atlas Mountains. Continue via

the spectacular Tizin-Tichka Pass before descending past charming mountain villages, dense woods and green fields to the ochre coloured city of Marrakesh. Tonight we enjoy dinner at a vibrant local restaurant. (B,DW)Hotel: Le Meridien N’Fis Hotel Marrakesh – 2 nights

DAY 24 : SUN 18 OCT 2020 Marrakesh sightseeing Our sightseeing with a Local Expert starts in the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa Square in the Old Quarter with its palm readers, acrobats, camels and snake-charmers. We then visit the Palais de la Bahia, intended to be the greatest palace of its time when it was built in the late 19th century. Later we experience a hands on cooking class with a local chef, where we learn the art seasoning with aro¬matic Moroccan herbs. Then savour your creations for dinner! (B, D)

DAY 25 : MON 19 OCT 2020 Marrakesh – Essaouira Say goodbye to Marrakesh as we venture to the laid back fishing town of Essaouira. On our waking tour with a local expert we visit the UNESCO listed Medina, the walled Jewish Quarter, Skala Fortress and spend some time exploring the alleyways. Tonight perhaps sample the local seafood and wine at a waterside restaurant? (B)Hotel: Atlas Hotel & Spa– 1 night

DAY 26 : TUE 20 OCT 2020 Essaouira – Casablanca This morning we journey north to the coast and to Casablanca. Our sight¬seeing shows us the huge Hassan II Mosque – the largest in the country and the tres chic seaside strip known as the Corniche, lined with trendy restaurants and cafes. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner at the famous Rick’s Café and no doubt a rendition of ‘As Time Goes By’. (B,DW)Hotel: Grand Mogador City Centre – 1 night
