For immediate release 15 th June, 2008 BACKSTAGE : THE UK’S FIRST ASIAN ROCK RADIO SHOW ON CLUB ASIA ‘Backstage’ is UK’s first ever Asian Rock Show broadcasting on Club Asia 963 & 972 AM. The move follows Club Asia continued commitment to reflect the diversity of the Asian music scene. The last couple of years have seen a drastic change in the genre of music being produced in the sub- continent. Guitar led music is becoming the genre of choice in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. Acts like Atif Aslam, Aaroh, Noori, Rox3n, Call, Kaavish, MHB, 82 Rocker and Rock ID lead the way and many more stars with guitars are lined up on the horizon. The show also features underground acts who like their riffs louder than their lyrics. The king of rock, Atif Aslam lent his support for this ground breaking show and spoke exclusively to Club Asia about his music and his sell out show at the Royal Albert Hall. The interview is available at www.myspace.com/clubasiaradio . Up coming guests include Parikrama, Aaroh, Rock ID and Mustafa Zahid. This weekly show is hosted by Club Asia’s very own resident rocker, Schehzad, speaking about the show he says, “I feel this is the time. The music that is coming out of the sub-continent truly represents the youth culture of Asians. We like our music raw and real!
